  1. I was at CDFreaks and read this article CEA: It's time for music industry to quit singing the blues. Take a look. Very interesting. ]Bonkers[
  2. I have 6 invites for Gmail. Just PM me with your email addy. ]Bonkers[
  3. Can someone upload the tcpip.sys file. The link in this thread is down. Thanks ]Bonkers[
  4. A friend was messing around on my computer and removed my access from one of my folders. He went into the folders security settings and removed acess from all of my accounts (ie. admins, creators, etc.). Now the only account that has access to this folder is "Everyone". Is there anyway to give another user persmissions. I can only copy the files and open them. That is it. Thanks ]Bonkers[
  5. I would recommend buying an external firewire enclousure. This way you can mount harddrives, cdrws, dvd burners in there. Here is an example. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc....-146-153&depa=0 ]Bonkers[
  6. The university at our school just bought licenses for this program for all of the students. Can you tell me how it is on system resources and on actually find viruses? I have never heard of it before, just curious what the cyberl public thinks. ]Bonkers[
  7. A router. Folks, this uses the least system resources ]Bonkers[
  8. I would recommend Alcohol 120%. I can burn so many formats. ]Bonkers[
  9. Doh... I just did some more reading and this has already been covered. Sorry ]Bonkers[
  10. Hello, I was just reading the site and someone posted a topic about their own private proxy. Someone after that posted that it would help when they are at work and surfing. This got my mind racing and thinking. At university (I live in the dorms) they block ports that a bunch of my favorite programs use. Now would it be possible to run a proxy at home (ie. not on campus) and then connect from my dorm to the proxy and use my programs? If so, can anyone recommend some readings that I need to setup a proxy. The simplier the better Thanks ]Bonkers[
  11. To be honest, I am not even too sure how to set it up. Doing all the calculations would be tricky. I have 3 different accounts where money is at the momemt, plus two debit cards and a mastercard. I tried it out and setup a bunch, but it just wasn't working out. Thanks for the suggestion though XtremeMaC. ]Bonkers[
  12. I am a university student and am looking for an expense / budget program. This way I can input my tuition, dorm, food costs (ie. all the money going out) and student loans, jobs, scholarships, bursaries (ie. all the money going out), and how much I have in my bank account(s) and basically show me what I owe or have left (to spend on beer). More or less just like what a bank statement looks like (at least how my bank sends it to me). Really simple, I don't need budget planning or income tax stuff. A nice and simple GUI would be a bonus too. I have tried one or two but the GUI is horrible and the learning curve is pathetically hard. Any ideas? Thanks ]Bonkers[

  14. @egil: take a look at this thread http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=21316&st. I did something similiar to what you are trying to do. ]Bonkers[
  15. For Adobe Acrobat Pro your serial shouldn't have any dashes. It should be in the following form: 123456790.... (ie. no spaces, no dashes). [OEM Install] ISX_SERIALNUMBER=100897567462354687112546 USERNAME=Bobert COMPANYNAME=MSFN INSTALLDIR=C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ ALLOW_LOCKDOWN_BROWSE=YES ALLOW_LOCKDOWN_MEDIA=YES ARPHELPLINK= ARPHELPTELEPHONE= ARPNOMODIFY=NO ;ARPNOMODIFY=YES disables the "Change" button in Add/Remove Programs ;*************************************************************** ;Launches - Set for any other applications you wish to launch ; 1. Define 1 or more custom section names -> MyLaunch ; 2. Enable your custom section(s) -> MyLaunch=YES ; 3. Set up your custom section: ; [MyLaunch] ; TYPE=EXE (Can be EXE or OTHER - default is OTHER) ; PROGRAM=C:\My.exe (can be null type is EXE and if included in commandline) ; COMMANDLINE= (add program arguments here) ; CHANGEDIR= (add working dir here) ; WAIT=YES (Can be YES or NO if type is EXE) ; PLATFORM= (Any delimited combination of the following: ; WIN_XP ; WIN_2K ; WIN_ME ; WIN_98 ; WIN_NT4 ; (delimiters: any printable char) ;*************************************************************** ;--Launch Objects That is what mine looks like. For diskeeper (and Quicken I imagine), my guess is an incorrect switch or maybe just the syntax. Here is what mine looks like: setup.exe /S /v"/qn" Good luck ]Bonkers[
  16. Well, the search button is your friend. Please use it. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=21814 ]Bonkers[
  17. I also used VPC for a long time, but something happen and it wouldn't open. I needed to test my image out so I downloaded and install VMWare. It was a lot faster and just overall a nicer experience to work with. As I am not quite so techy, I didn't notice all of the "extra" stuff that is installed . Guess I am going to have to look at that now, but I won't be going back to VPC. ]Bonkers[
  18. This is the line I use from my cmdlines.txt (please note that setup.inf is in the same directory as my cmdlines.txt) rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128 .\setup.inf ]Bonkers[
  19. First off, I think you should read this post: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=21582 Secondly, you can try your image in an emulator like VirtualPC or VMWare and test your cd out. Have a pen and paper and make any notes on typos like links to files being incorrect or programs not running unattendly. Then go back to your source files (always keep the folder where your source is compiled from) and make any modifications and retest. That my friend, is the fool proof way. ]Bonkers[
  20. Read the MSFN Guide on RunOnceEx: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/runonceex.htm Aaron did an excellent job and I think it covers everything very well. ]Bonkers[
  21. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=22032&hl=adobe (the search button brought that up) ]Bonkers[
  22. In your specific case mentioned, Adobe uses a serial (ie. its registration) that it requires during installation. ]Bonkers[
  23. \/ (in my sig) ]Bonkers[
  24. Just out of curiousity, could you go back to the resolution where you were having the problems, and see if it happens again. If so, apply the patch and let us know what happens? Hehe, just asking ]Bonkers[
  25. Read this page: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/finish.htm. That is in my opinion the best way to create the iso. ]Bonkers[
