maybe that was the time it took it to decompress the tons of files. have you re-downloaded again? maybe there was some early problems and they fix the intaller. extrange that a virus came with it, but its good to know that you got a clean installer like myself.

i didnt integrate WMP11 into windows source and i had the WMV with other players issue. thanks to your fix it is solved. im not sure if it will be needed with the new version but i think it will be because it seems that MS only updated the setup files to 11.0.5721.5146 and not the core of the player. i will post the link to the spanish msi in the morning because it is currently uploading but thanks to my isp that dropped us the upload speed by more than half it takes forever so i will leave it uploading. going to bed right now.

what exactly didnt work? if you extract the files and use the file dxsetup along with /silent it will work. my runonceex entry (i have installed this tons of times) REG ADD %KEY%03 /VE /D "Microsoft DirectX 9.0c Dec 2006" /f REG ADD %KEY%03 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\directx\dxsetup.exe /silent" /f by the way, run it from your hard disk just in case. some setups dont like to be ran from read-only media.

the thing that you have to double check here is the firewall system on your router and/or firewall software you may have installed on those computers.

as far as i know this service is used by windows to log events from windows logons, computers in network among other things i cant remember. i dont think you are in problems without it but its etrange that it is malfunctioning.

did you have the file as described in the error message? this is the most obvious thing to check. another thing would try to shorten the path names to 8 or less characters. nero setup is ackward enough so i didnt tried much to make it work. instead i went the nero lite way and im pleased right now. except for nero recode wich i dont use much and its not included in the lite version.

as a suggestion, i think you can provide the msi with full switches support, so the average user can get it and install it normally. i made my set of msi (english and spanish) with switches so i can use it unattended and pass it along to colleagues. if you want i can give my spanish msi so you can have it on your repository for spanish-speaking folks. thanks for the addon info, will try it on some computers which i don't mind have it integrated at all. oh, by the way, has anyone find out why the wmv on others players have problems? thanks again.

i have a test machine with vista for software compatibility but haven't tried photoshop cs2 on it. we will be migrating to vista but need photoshop. maybe there is a workaround already. try searching adobe's kb.

i made some repacks with IDS without problems. you have to check everything IDS detects when repackagind as some files or registry keys are not needed. for the problem you have i have roxio easy media creator asking for the source and even and insert the cd it keep asking. so is not necessarily a repack error. something must be wrong with your program. if you copied the source, try installing it and repairing from it to see if it stops this behavior.

seems kinda obviuos but did you used the /qn or /qb switches? normally all setups auto agree to license terms when using silent swtiches.

the lastest version came out. get it here i have tried both the english and spanish versions without problems. 1.- Extract the setup using winrar, keeping just the files inside setup folder 2.- Use an editor like Orca to delete the Row Installed or MM inside LaunchCondition table 3.- To launch the setup use this parameters MM=XX /qb /norestart Note1: deleting the Row mentioned above will let you test if you have intellipoint installed. dont know if setup will work silently if you dont delet it but i do so no harm is done. Note2: XX stands for model number, use this registry key to find out what model number is the one you use. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IntelliPoint] "Model"=0x0000000e Use the decimal value in the MM property. my case is 14 as my mouse is intellimouse explorer 4.0. you can find out all the models changing in options and then looking back into this key. Note3: Using the registry key above will let you import settings such as event mapping and program specific settings. enjoy!

i think im giving this up for a few days if i can come up with something i didnt do the last time. EDIT: i tried other things without any success. im giving up on this one. i really dislike that companies launch all kinds of things before/after their setups are executed. why the heck do they do this? its annoying.

orca is for faster editing if you know what you're doing. a good editor is Installer Design Studio. i use it at work and has great functionality.

i install tons of programs and congifs on first login and have been like this for ages without any problems so far. but thanks for the alternative method just in case.

the installer doesnt register the file extension. everything works fine but the right click functionality (wich is great) is lost if you modified the original installer. i only removed the url launch action in [run] section and compile it again. i have tried many times without luck. maybe there is some kind if switch or parameter to avoid the [run] section. i will look in inno site.

i though of making exactly that, just wondered if there is a "standar" action like "open url" that can be disable using something like /nourl will extract it later and i let you know how it went. thanks for the heads-up.

i cant figure out how to stop the opening of the vso webpage after the setup finishes. its inno setup. maybe there is some switch to disable this action but im not sure. any ideas? thanks.

have you tried the Abcpy.ini way as described above? i noticed the file in the cs3 beta but i havent had the chance to play with it.

dont use other files. just open the dxsetup.exe with winrar and extract its contents. to install it silently use the extracted file dxsetup.exe /silent not the original dxsetup.exe (wich you extracted the setup files from) downloaded from microsoft. works fine and i have installed this thousand times now.
