  1. Let's see how the ATI chipset does! lol
  2. The additions to TXTSETUP that you put in your first post will work for SATARAID as well? Or is that for PATARAID? Thanks
  3. Avast! Antivirus. http://www.avast.com/ Works beautifully. There is a version you can pay for or a free version also. I like it a lot.
  4. Well you mentioned something about how they are now WHQL and you don't need this method for the 6.66? I was wondering what is the other method?
  5. Can you explain how to integrate the 6.66 drivers? I've been searching around and I can't find anyway to integrate the 6.66 drivers for either x86 or x64. I want to know how to do it for both though, since I use x86 and x64 XP.
  6. If you try to install 32bit drivers into a 64bit OS, that won't work! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> On a 32bit OS. Do I need to do that same editing WINNT as I do for x64?
  7. Tried integrating the 32bit 7.13 drivers without doing any editing like you explained here. And windows install hangs on the "installing devices" part.
  8. Although the newest NVIDIA x64 chipset package v. 7.13 is specially designed for nForce4 boards with Intel CPU, I tested these drivers with my DFI Lanparty NF4 D-Ultra (with AMD Athlon64 CPU). The integration of these drivers into a bootable CD with nLite 1.0 b4 works like charme, when you are doing, what I have written above. Attention: The way to integrate these x64 Raid-drivers is easier than I thought, when I opened this topic. Meanwhile I certified by a couple of tests, that there is no need to make any changes in TXTSETUP.SIF! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It should work, the 7.13 package is for ALL nvidia nforce4 chipset, AMD and Intel!!! Also thank you for figuring this out. I have done it and it appears to be running well on vmware virtual machine.
  9. Sorry about that, those were the wrong ones. These are the latest versions that I now have. NForce4 x64 Chipset v7.13 Audio driver version 4.62 (WHQL) Audio utility version 4.51 Ethernet NRM driver version 4.82 (WHQL) Network management tools version 4.85 SMBus driver version 4.48 (WHQL) with updated uninstaller files Installer version 4.77 WinXP IDE PATARAID driver version 5.35 WinXP IDE SATARAID driver version 5.35 (WHQL) WinXP IDE SATA_IDE driver version 5.35 (WHQL) WinXP RAIDTOOL application version 5.35 So hopefully you can now test with these latest versions. Your work is very appreciated.
  10. Ok I'm not sure if I have the same drivers as you. These are the chipset drivers I have to integrate. Audio driver version 4.62 (WHQL) Audio utility version 4.51 Ethernet NRM driver version 4.82 (WHQL) Network management tools version 4.85 SMBus driver version 4.48 (WHQL) with updated uninstaller files Installer version 4.77 WinXP RAIDTOOL application version 4.82 WinXP IDE PATARAID driver version 5.33 WinXP IDE SATARAID driver version 5.33 WinXP IDE SATA_IDE driver version 5.33 I am pretty sure they are most recent, perhaps could you test these and see if they work?
  11. Has anyone tested this yet? Could be very useful to me.
  12. NOOOOOOOO!!!!! Now look what you people have done! I hate you all!
  13. Great, I just built a new Athlon 64 3200+ system, and even with plain old IDE drives, it runs like a Ferrari. You've made a good choice.... DO NOT INSTALL A 32BIT OS, you'll waste your time..... I installed Windows 2000 on mine previous to x64, and it just barely installed, it was so slow, I couldn't figure it out; even when I booted up it did not work worth anything, the response was so slow. That was something that I credit to trying to run a PCI-Express video card on a 32 bit operating system....... I thought I'd half killed the processor with how slow it was going.........Just go ahead and get the x64 trial, you'll love it, until the "Playskool" theme gets to you, but then there is Royale after that.... I just went ahead and bought the x64 full version, and it runs perfect, no problems whatsoever.. Yes, that is perhaps the only downfall of x64, all drivers must be 64 bit drivers, there are no hacks or any other ways around it.... However, that problem is slowly disappearing, every day, more and more devices gain support with 64 bit drivers being developed for them, it would be best for now just to hook up a wired network connection into the back of the router with the lan port coming from your motherboard, there will be a compatible driver for that with your motherboard driver CD...... Well first of all, 64 bit is so much faster, even without hyperthreading.... It's been optimized time after time after time, and you'll notice that there will almost never be any lock ups because of too many programs running, mainly because of the CPU throttling "Cool 'n' Quiet" technology that AMD put in.....I think you'll love it, keep us updated on the progress...... mrvader89 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> x64 windows supports hyperthreading, why wouldn't it? That has nothing to do with 64 bit. Hyperthreading is just a technology of Intel processors, like HyperTransport is for AMD processors. Cool 'n' Quiet does not prevent lockups, in fact it actually decreases performance. Cool 'n' Quiet slows down your processor when you aren't using it much and then speeds it back up when you are gaming or something, I would recommend not using Cool 'n' Quiet at all, I think it sucks myself. Really only worth it if you have a laptop. And are you sure that there are 64 bit drivers on the motherboard CD? Usually they just have the 32 bit drivers on there, and even if they do have 64 bit drivers they might be outdated. I think that's bad advice right there. Best thing is to go to nvidia's website and download the latest 64 bit drivers. And how can you credit poor performance to running a pci-e video card on a 32 bit OS? A video card will run just as fast on a 32 bit OS as it will on a 64 bit OS because there aren't any video cards specially optimized for 64 bit. I don't think getting the trial OS is a good idea to use seriously. If you want reliability and performance it would be best to get the full version.
  14. xoftspy is crap, use HijackThis for your trojans. If HijackThis picks stuff up after a fresh install then you must have got a warez copy of windows that somebody infected.
  15. Glad I could help. A couple things you should know to get you started. 1. There is no 64 bit flash player. There is a 64 bit version of IE, but you won't be able to have flash on it. You will have to use the 32 bit IE for flash. If you have trouble with that you will find a lot of info from googling it. 2. You need to have a special antivirus program that is compatible with 64 bit. I recommend Avast! antivirus, it's a very nice antivirus program. http://www.avast.com/ There is a professional version you can buy, or a home edition you can download for free! Also: Link to 64 bit Java 5.0 update 4: https://sdlcweb1c.sun.com/ECom/EComActionSe...50C02834631EDDC Select the one for "Windows AMD64 Platform" Link to 64 bit .NET Framework 2.0 Beta 2: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en Hope you enjoy 64 bit. Once you work everything out it's great. I know I enjoy it!
  16. Yea you should probably update your first link or just edit it out, because as you can see, it comfused fluid.
  17. Ok I did a little googling. First off I found this post: "Based on the knowledge that windows has a supporting driver for the 54G Broadcom wireless chip, I searched around and found that one of the most common and inexpensive wireless card out there is the Belkin F5D7000 PCI or the PCMCI for laptops. Every here and there CircuitCity, Staples, BestBuy, OfficeMax or OfficeDepot have them on sale for $10 ~ $20 or even free after rebate. I got the F5D7000 PCI desktop card and it was automatically recognized when Windows 64Bit started as Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter." Finding the right drivers for you depends on which hardware revision you have. Try to figure out what version your wireless card is. From that post which I don't know if it's true or not, if you have a version with broadcom in it then windows might supply the driver for you. I also found a link to a 64 bit ralink driver that works for the ralink version of the F5D7000. http://www.ralink.com.tw/supp-1.htm Hope this helps.
  18. Re-readed, i'm searching your pack ... thanks edit: WMP10 updates list http://home.arcor.de/carsthom/updates/wmp10_updates.html Booogy's wmp10 patchs http://rapidshare.de/files/2036209/newWMP.rar.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think that's the right file. The one I got from boooggy is larger and has more files because I think he updated it.
  19. If you are going wired to the router you don't need Belkin drivers. You use nvidia's 64 bit drivers for the Nvidia gigabit lan port. Oh and about the 32 bit program things. It's kind of a toss-up. I have seen some reviews and benchmarks and on some 32 bit programs, they run just as well on 64 bit as they would 32 bit. Other ones run slower, and other ones actually run faster.
  20. Boooggy, I'm not sure if I did the registry thing correctly. I added the line for wmv acceleration into the HIVEDEF file in the first addreg section right near the top. I hit enter and put it as the very first line under addreg, is that ok or is there some special place for it? When I go into windows media player options, under the advanced performance area, the video acceleration is still on "use overlays" instead of "high quality mode". So either I did something wrong or it didn't work. Version number 3923 is displaying correctly.
  21. Does that work? I thought people were having problems disabling SFC with nlite, I used the empty list method to stop it. I guess I'll have to give nlite a try. Oh and for clarification, I don't have to add any of those reg entries like the wmv acceleration one to make it work do I? I mean I can just go into the player and tick the box to enable it and it will be same thing correct?
  22. Definitely I think 64 bit is better. I think it is actually more stable than 32bit xp and I don't have any problems with it. More and more things are being made in 64 bit. And the drivers are maturing really fast, ATI and creative now have official 64 bit drivers that work really well. Internet Explorer 64 bit seems faster. Everything about x64 xp seems fast and smooth and very professional and clean. I have also used fraps on x64 with farcry 64 bit and it runs so much smoother, it's really nice. I think anyone deciding between 32 bit and 64 bit should pick 64 bit. Because at this point a lot of the kinks have been worked out, drivers are pretty mature and stable, and more and more programs are coming out in 64 bit.
  23. No foolin'? You're the best booggy, many many thanks.
  24. Wow, I never noticed your update packs before boooggy! So basically if I: 1. Do all the nLite stuff (leaving WMP in-tact), integrate ryan's pack and 1.2.2b update, etc. 2. Run WMP10 slipstreamer v3. 3. Extract your WMP10 update pack into i386 and overwrite all. 4. Make ISO and burn. 5. After installation run your WMP10 mod. And I will have a fully up-to-date WMP10 with windows media video hardware acceleration? Thanks for all your hard work boooggy, this is really appreciated!
