  1. All of the work was done by abraxu, I'm just making it available to a bigger audience ... Anyway, to use the script, drag over the installer onto the script icon and run the installer afterwards. 2. It's too late now...WGA is now official and you can't just say no to the drug.
  3. Screenshot?
  4. EWF is an embedded technology to prevent writing on certain media. If you had an embedded OS booting from a flash drive, you wouldn't want the OS constantly writing to it or else the flash drive will be unable to write to the drive anymore.

    Mindows Project

I do have vdmdbg.dll, except it's in my Windows folder. I use taskmgr.exe for my shell. I understand that Rainlendar is a calendar app, but is Fireworks the Macromedia application? And the error message; does it just say "Application failed to initialize properly" or does it also have 0x0000000 or similar numbers? If it does, I need to know those numbers. And what shell and version of Mindows are you using (regular or nvidia)? VPN will work, but how difficult to setup depends on if you're using Windows or a third-party application. A third-party application would be easier .
  6. It is the right place. Ximage is the program to extract the .WIM files (the image file Vista uses to install Windows). Currently there is no program to extract these kinds of files. Ximage is still in beta and all leaked versions can only extract the 4000 builds.
  7. Most likely ntoskrnl.exe? If it's not located there, then it would be in kernel32.dll. About the localization issue...it would be a total burden and waste of time to obtain every hotfix in different languages. I'm not sure if it would work or not, but why not compare an English unpatched version with a patched one, then apply the differences to an unpatched localized version?

I dunno about full since I don't have it, but it should work. I'm not sure about the 180-day timebomb since 180 days hasn't passed on my install yet . To solve your imagehlp.dll problem, or any missing DLL, copy over the file from your unmodified 2003 install or from the CD (expand the compressed file).

And what does all this have to do with the project ?
  10. Maybe the information is wrong now, but I'm not sure. Maybe Vista isn't the final name?
  11. I'm surprised I haven't found anything related to this on the web yet. If you have Build 5048 and open up SOURCES\PKEYCONF.XML, you will find that Vista was originally planned to be named Windows 2006 and would have been in the Windows NT 5.5 family.
  12. Looks real! I think you can tell by if Windows Firewall is there in the tray or not.
  13. I don't remember anything about copy-protection in Vista. Maybe you read old news?
  14. Either your network card config's messed up or your TCP/IP stack's messed up.
  15. The welcome screen looks exactly like XPize .
  16. There is no way to do this because the limit of three before the arrow appears is hard-coded into Windows.
  17. If you delete RECYCLER and don't ever delete anything on the drive, then it won't come back. System Volume Information cannot be deleted as it contains information about the partition. If you don't want your FTP server to show the latter folder, then change to something like WS_FTP.
  18. Most antivirus companies will wait to see how user-acceptance of the new product goes. Since not many people are using XP-64, then it's unlikely that there'll be any more AV products out.
  19. Windows 2006 would've been a much better name .
  20. Me too, but apparently, it's too late to get an invite. I think you must've signed up by a certain date.
  21. Maybe Microsoft thought the name was too dull?
  22. I seriously hope it's not Windows Vista/View.
  23. The printer may have been moved. Delete the printer from both computers and reinstall it.
  24. Have you checked for spyware? If you don't really care which browser you use, switch to Firefox or Opera.
  25. Did you mess around with the system BIOS?
