  2. Well to help you find a driver, we need to know what piece of hardware this is .
  3. Or go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version.
  4. Umm...Upgrade to full?
  5. Why does it matter .
  6. I chose Starter Edition because of its lack of junkware .
  7. Microsoft had an article about integrating .NET Framework somewhere on their site. Try searching .
  8. My local library had a similar problem. They fixed it by having 'print jobs'. If you print from any computer, it goes to one of two locations. This is probably done with a custom print driver. Then the user has to walk over to one of the print stations and login. When they login, they are presented with a screen showing them how many pages it takes and how much it costs, along with the option to delete something they don't want. The only problem is that I don't remember what the application was called .
  9. It may be that Windows 2000 doesn't support lower power usage modes (C4 or C5?). Dunno much about processor power modes though.
  10. And next time, post this in the Microsoft Office section.

    Firefox Issue

This is a known problem with the integration of IE. There may have been a fix but I don't remember it.
  12. Or spyware. But your problem with changing folder views seems to be when your folder customization cache fills up. Change the settings with TweakUI and see if it works.
  13. Using msconfig.exe removes it I think. Not sure though.
  14. Working for me also, but it takes a second or two to load.
  15. The Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet adds a new 'Color' item to the Windows control panel, providing a single place to view and edit color management settings in Windows XP. Using it, you can install and uninstall color profiles, change color profile associations for displays, printers and scanners, view detailed properties for color profiles (including a 3D rendering of the color space gamut), and rename color profiles, keeping the filenames and "internal" names consistent. This tool also enables Windows to automatically adjust the gamut curve of the display when a color profile containing gamut table information is set as the default profile for the display. Typically, such profiles are created by custom monitor calibration tools, such as those available from ColorVision, GretagMacbeth, and X-Rite. If a color profile has this information, it is shown with an asterisk (*) in the user interface. Using the Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet, you can: • Install and uninstall ICC color profiles • Inspect, rename, and compare two different color profiles • View a 3D graphics plot of color profile color gamuts • Associate color profiles with devices such as printers, monitors, and scanners • Apply custom color gamut adjustments to one or more displays “on the fly” • Set up display calibration reminders at intervals you specify Download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en
  16. Your method worked for the font preview ...but unfortunately grayed-out text still doesn't antialias. And for some reason, using a theme does antialias the grayed-out text, but using Windows Classic doesn't.
  17. Basically if you don't have a good understanding of 64-bit and you don't have an insanely powerful computer then you probably don't need it.
  18. When you enable Cleartype in Windows Classic, some elements such as grayed out text and font preview don't antialias the font. Is there any way to fix this problem?
  19. Don't you just close the shell? I think I just exit the command prompt and it shuts down.
  20. One time I had a partitioned filled with all of my backup files from CD's I've thrown away to save space. So then one day I have some problems with an old installation of XP, so I decided to start fresh. I boot up the XP CD, which then gives me the choice of managing my partitions. I didn't pay much attention to that screen, but since in XP my drive letter for my backup partition was D:\, I deleted that partition. Then I create a new partition over the deleted one to install XP on. So when I load up my fresh XP, I find that I'm given a choice of two OS's, both of which are Windows XP, so I thought it must've been an error on XP Setup's fault, only to find my storage partition gone when I login :'(.
  21. Softpedia your link to the page is wrong: http://www.http//www.msfn.org/board/index....opic=58434&st=0 Doesn't really work...

    minlogon

Actually Minlogon does save settings, but you have to manually edit the registry to change anything.
  23. Windows 2000 Embedded was canceled soon after the project began. The reason was because XP had just been released and they decided to componentize XP instead.
  24. I'm not surprised it's Dell as they're the king of cheap.

    minlogon

EWF is completely unrelated to Minlogon. If you don't know what's it for you probably don't need it. And I'm glad you found my procedures useful .
