  1. subject says it all, anyone know how to do this?
  2. Is it possible to shutdown winPE, not reboot? i read about PEShutdown but all the links are dead?
  3. I set the Policy: User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Internet Explorer Disable changing Automatic Configuration settings and applied it to all domain Users, can I create another policy that disables this policy for a certain user/group? if so how?
  4. I doubt it myself. what I did for now was modify the NTFS permissions, denied read to "everyone" and that takes them out of the list of screensavers in the display properties. but when I do a sp upgrade it looks for the .scr files. back to the drawing board.
  5. Right, I guess you didn't read my other post. I don't want to shut down WFP. I want to trick windows into thinking there not system files. I think I could do this by modifing some .inf files, but with not much luck so far
  6. The system screensavers. the are system files, protected by WFP. if you delete them it will prompt you for the windows xp cd. I'm looking for a way not to shut down WFP, I want to modify some .inf's so windows doesn't think there system files, can't seem to do it though.
  7. does anyone know what .inf files I need to modify to uninstall the windows screensavers? if you delete them from %systemroot%\system32 and the dllcache, windows will see that there windows system files and reinstall them form the last install source, i.e. i386 or SP Thanks!
