  14. OK I will use this method instead of manually. The part of this which may become confusing is it is actually 3 methods rolled into 1. Each 1 can be used seperatly of with other methods, if used with other ones then this must be changed. I really want to use all methods but become confused(easily done) But I did manage to get my comitt to less than 30 using this so I want to go further and modernize it with DirX 9 and media player 9. Eventually I will use the reactos shell in the cd to save some ram usage and a few other tweaks. Reactos shell has a few less features but saves a lot of comitt.
  15. OK lets say I am going to install/upgrade to DirX 9 and media player 9. I want to save a few mb on cd. Is there any old files from the old DidX and media player I should/could remove?
  16. Got a question about DirX and media player. Should I remove the old files before upgrading? If so which ones?
  17. Windows 2k is very stable. It doesnt have the frills and fluff of xp. Most of the tweaks that work on xp will work on 2k, Read before tweaking. BTW I recomend USP 5.0 for 2k

  20. I was looking at the whiners method. It seems almost too easy. Does this do more than remove IE? Would it add dir x 9 and media player 9? If not I have a question will removing IE using the whiners method reduce boot times and memory usage?

  25. n what's set to be 2005's hottest story yet Sony have been found to install illegal Trojan horse-based digital restrictions management (DRM) technology that installs itself as a rootkit on Windows PCs. Users who purchase certain Sony Music CDs from online stores like Amazon are subject to this rootkit being installed on their machines. According to Sysinternals' Mark Russinovich the kit installs itself in hidden directories and attempts to mask its existence as "Essential System Tools". What's more fun is that attempting to remove the rootkit with common tools that perform a RKR scan will render a Windows XP machine useslesss. "Users that stumble across the cloaked files with a RKR scan will cripple their computer if they attempt the obvious step of deleting the cloaked files," Mark wrote in an online blog entry yesterday. So what exactly is Sony playing at? Installing rootkit software that's not identified in its EULA and rendering machines useless if users try to remove the software! This is taking the RIAA effort a little too far. Source: http://neowin.net/ Source: Mark's Blog at Sysinternals
