  1. Well those guys offered no help.... Ok, well with apps like flashget you simply need to install it using various switches, the serial and username can then be entered using a registry key. Now for future refrence you can check the following Sites (MSFN SUBSITES) http://unattended.msfn.org/ read section on installers http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=80 just do a simple search for your app, odds are its there.
  2. hmmm, optimising your NIC, IDEAS
  3. To answer your question, there is no freeware/shareware alternative to create Winrars' RAR format. There are tons of tools that can decompress it. As far as i can advise you, maybe buy it? That may seem a bit off topic but seeing that there are no alternatives what choice do you have. Also the compression winrar gives you can be seen making great compression on music and movie files. But zip is more suited to documents. Sunil
  4. hmmm, i have used the iss method which works pretty good.
  5. Microsoft word 2003 is the better ver to get. It has better collaberation between the various programs. Hence it is easier for you to work on files between different apps (excel and access). They have better import tools, enhanced security... Most of all its stable.
  6. hmmm, is that legal? also this windows messenger 6 will it be based on the current ver 5 build and customised by you? It seems intresting...gl with that and dont do anything i woudnt Sunil
  7. its kinda simple..you can use the cd to place your short cuts for you.... Here is a small guide. 1. to place shortcuts on your desktop you need to create the following folders in the $OEM$ folder on your cd $DOCS\All Users\Desktop Here is a break down of the code above $Docs = To the documents and settings folder of Windows XP All Users = To the folder that Every user of the computer has access to Desktop = To the Desktop (duh) 2. To place them in the Quick Launch Menu $DOCS\{USER}\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ {User} = To the user name of the person you want the shortcut to be created for. Just replace with all users for every user of the pc.. 3. The Start Menu $Docs\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\{?} Create shortcuts for which ever program you want in the All Programs Menu Just replace {1} with the name of the prog.. Sunil
  8. Hmmm i have sp2 installed and have not really been bothered by the popups. Things in windows have definitly changed for the greater good.
  9. Hmmm Ok, here goes Norton Antivirus was created with the basic notion of protecting end users. It includes "plugins" that help to keep your computer clean and virus free. These "plugins" are used by Office so that it can "collaberate" with norton antivirus. It was designed to provide an allround antivirus app for the End User i.e YOU Now on the other hand The Corporate Version of Symantec Antivirus is geared towards businesses the require a more robust application for Antivirus protection. It utilises Client/Server technology to achieve this. IT DOES NOT include most of the plugins the NORTON ANTIVIRUS contains. However the latest ver 9.0.1.1000 includes pop mail scanning. Simply put NORTON ANTIVIRUS does a good job at protecting you all around, but at the cost of speed i.e slow document opening and so on. SYMANTEC ANTIVIRUS ,corporate ver, was made so that it can be used in corporations with more dire needs minus the nice gui and so on so forth.
  10. Hmmm, i have always been a loyal nvidia fan, no matter what. They may not be on top right now, but i support them non the less....
  11. hmmm, it seems you are just a normal user, you need to get admin rights...also check the security settings of the file in question.
  12. Ok, well im back to impart some knowledge..... Ok, the atlon 64 is not really the best processor out there (there may be a few that disagree). It merely has optimised 32 bit extensions that allow it to process information faster, the benefits can be seen in gaming and word processing. It does not really add much otherwise (except maybe bragging rights). Now as you said if the person is just a normal home user (characterised by the traits you mentioned) a 64 may be a bit on the extreme and not to mention expensive side. However if you have the money, why not its a pretty impressive piece of hardware, go ahead and buy it. There have been numerous bench marks that have been done comparing it and the Intel line of Performance processors. Check these out:::; http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/20040318/index.html http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1550760,00.asp Now about the viruses, cant really say where you can get those..sry Sunil

  15. block settings cannot be changed via the registry, you will need specialised tools, partition magic and other partition management tools can help you to do this.
  16. when i had my exams, they were as hard as brick. @cubie we have to do the same exams as you guys in our country. We do one before called CXC.
  17. i think he meant he wanted it to run concurrently...... i think that your method would not suit him because of the fact that it only plays music after the drivers have been installed.
  18. i dont think so, because of the fact that it would need access to the windows irq settings, which basically tells windows where and what any particular hardware is. So i dont think getting sound would be and easy task.
  19. it should because most msi files packed in an exe usually pass the switch onto the msi file to be processed. So Yes
  20. That is the windows hymat cd update, redownload and install.
