install longhorn pack normally. then for icons u go look for 2 files explorer.exe and shell32.dll. use makecab or cabarc to compress them and after that u copy them to your xpcd\i386. using switch /x will give u only the files in the pack not the files u want. bootscreen>ntkrnlpa.exe and ntoskrnl.exe.

that is true. cause my pack only add the newest files to wmp 10 but not the registry entries. so for wmv acceleration i create this file: download link. it is an installer that could be installed with /SILENT switch. also it adds the file and the registry entry for wmv acceleration. please test it and report back.

u can remove the unistallers but u will not be able to uninstall that programs....

tommy, it was disscused here and the conclusion was that is a bug from M$. unfortunately no solution yet....

well u start the pc. wait till everything is loaded and then put the cd with xp into your cd drive. dont forget to have the serial somewhere cause it will ask for it. then if the auto start begins u choose the option to install windows xp. that is it. of course u have to wait till it finishes. but i dont recomend this. it is nice to make a fresh install with formating. and of course after nlite the windows xp cd. details here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=28005

u made all steps except last one. i will update entries and test again. thanx. edit ok tested and works! thanx still one little problem: when i start WU it says we made updates to the site. install now. i click the install button and is going to 100% in 0.1 sec. after this everything works just fine....

it is .net framework in that directory. yes u can delete it. also u can download from here: .net framework. it has all hotfixes that m$ release for .net framework.

i put all the files on the cd, installed but it's giving me error number: 0x80072EFD. i noticed that after i installed the WGAInstall.exe (windows genuine advantage) is working with no problems. so i tried to put the files contained into WGA into my xpcd. but no luck. it does not work. i guess i still need to add registry entries. but i need help with those.....

i meant the files in my pack are the same with the ones in the latest patches for wmp10. so if u use the patches from m$ u dont need my pack.

this are the files included: wmvdmod.dl_ wmvcore.dl_ WMP.DL_ wmnetmgr.dl_ mp4sdmod.dl_ drmv2clt.dl_ but they are the newest files for wmp10 and they are brought by m$ wmp10 patches.
