just use the compaq recovery cd which will create the thing on d: drive and then copy it on a cd.

i say not to go for wd 74gb. speed improvement exist but not too much. and u will have a very noisy and hot hard drive.

i nlite first and then use the slipstreamer. i did not remove wmp with nlite.... and yes run the slipstreamer in the same folder that u run nlite.

no cause that pack is for Bâshrat the Sneaky wmp slipstreamer. for gnome slipstreamer there is NO NEED for ryanvm nowmp packs.

well i dont know what u find that worring.... your pc scores fine for its configuration. i know u said no buy for new hardware but i strongly recommend u a new grafic card. a nvidia 6600 or an ati 9600 would be nice and also not that expensive.
