Right as I posted I thought of something in my head... In the same group policy... (or another one if you wish) Go to: Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignments -> Select "Allow Log on through Terminal Services" -> add your groups I just tested it at the client I was trying to get it done for.. Works Great!! Thanks for spuring my thinking process

I got part of an answer... I have been looking into this for about a week or so now.. This is how I do it.. I use a .adm file and import it into my domain group policy to enable Remote Desktop on all my workstations.. Here is the text for the adm file.. CLASS MACHINE CATEGORY "Remote Desktop Configuration" KEYNAME "SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services" POLICY !!DENY_CONNECT #if version >= 4 SUPPORTED !!WinXP #endif EXPLAIN !!DENY_CONNECT_EXPLAIN ACTIONLISTON VALUENAME "fDenyTSConnections" VALUE NUMERIC 1 END ACTIONLISTON ACTIONLISTOFF VALUENAME "fDenyTSConnections" VALUE NUMERIC 0 END ACTIONLISTOFF END POLICY End Category [strings] WinXP="At least Windows XP Professional or .NET Server" DENY_CONNECT="Do not allow client connections" DENY_CONNECT_EXPLAIN="Prevents remote desktop connections to the system." This part works fine.. As for the users... lemme know if you figure it out... I have been looking into a few WMI scripts but I am no programmer and am having little luck with other peoples pre-made scripts.

Uncase anybody is interested.. I have found the solution AutoForwarders are apparently disabled in Exchange 2003.... someone must of enabled them on my other systems(disadvantage of working for a network firm) To enable autoforwarders on Exchange 2003: Open Exchange System Manager -> Global Settings -> Internet Message Format -> In the right pane... right click default -> select properties -> Click advanced tab -> check "Allow Automatic Forward Hit apply... Thats 6 hours of my work.. ended up finding it 7 pages deep in google groups. Hope this helps someone else

A little story I had an accounting computer that ran reports all the time. This was a nice new beefy machine. The computer ran perfectly fine all the time. Suddenly the user had to run a new report using crystal reports. This was a daily report that needed to run every day because of new procedures. The error message that you are getting is the same one I was getting. (different memory address referenced) The computer ran perfectly fine until something had to reference a specific portion of the memory. No memory testing utility was able to give me a sign that the memory was bad however once i replaced the 1dimm 512 with an identical 1dimm 512 the error went away..Even though the memory was only about a month and a half old.. it still went bad. It is a pain to pull out the memory because it is a laptop. I know how you feel. We are just giving you possible solutions because you asked us to. We tell you this because we went through the same problems you are going through and this was how we fixed it Please don't take this as being sassy.. I just want to make sure i get my point across.. ... just trying to help

Reseat = Pull out and put back in.. if you have 2 dimm's try them one at a time to see if one if faulty

Try turning the computer on and loggin in through Remote desktop and have it scan for hardware changes... I ran into this problem a few times with NEW PC's from dell... we would plug in the usb keyboard and mouse but it recognize it until we used a PS/2 keyboard to log in as admin.. once logged in it would install the USB drivers.. Not sure why yours stopped working... but try logging in remotely.. or using a PS/2 keyboard..

I have a brand new set up network running on SBS 2003. I set up a "forward to" on 2 of the accounts until they come to America to forward to their current e-mail address. (yes the address is valid) (it wont even work to any of my e-mail addresses) The rules are not applying.. Infact none of my Exchange 2003 OWA Server Side rules are applying. Tried as the regular user and as administrator. The server side rules do not run. I logged into one of my other clients running SBS 2003 and these rules run fine.. I run these rules on many of my other clients with no problem. They even work on my Exchange Server for my network (Exchange Standard on Win2k3 Standard SP1) It has had a few days now to "Apply itself" so waiting for the rules to run is not an option. I dont remember any spot to set to "Run Server Side Rules". This has always been something that has just worked for me.. Any ideas.. it works everywhere else i tried it.. (total of 4 other clients running SBS 2003 w/ exchange 2003) No errors in event logs. All services running (except for imap and pop3... unused) Any ideas

Go to internet properties then the advanced tab and restore defaults... IE switches from unsecured to secured back to unsecured... if you maybe clicked to fast and now have the dont slow this again checked and accidentally clicked no then it will hang there.... either way.. try that anyways... then just let it sit till it comes up with an error

Try changing your memory... the n00b is right

if you disable sygate... does it still happen? -
Can you ping internal workstations/servers via hostname? Other than web browsing...when you ping like say google.com.. does it say unable to find host google.com or do you get request timed out and do you get the same when you try to ping an internal workstation.... Before testing.. run ipconfig /flushdns This way there are no cached entries in your local dns cache
-
When you say you cant ping it from the workstations.. do you mean you: Can't ping remote workstations from the local server. Can't ping remote workstations from local workstations. Can't ping the local server from the remote workstations. From what I gather.. you dont have a route to the remote network from your local workstations. You have a route to the remote network from the server because it is directly connected but the route is not advertised to the workstations that you work from...
