Chrome 110-based Opera - I ported it to Vista.
D.Draker replied to D.Draker's topic in Windows Vista
No , you will not - 'cause each new version brings more and more complicated crap , too complicated for someone who is not prepared to handle. We already had a "hero", who just ran away after he made only one version of chrome released, and it was based on my knowledge. -

1 - Where do you see any type of links to the ready-made kernel at MSFN ? 2 - He asked about ready made links, he wrote "I see no download links for the ported version 96". 3 - No, Opera is NOT Open source, Chromium yes, Opera no. I shared my methods with the several of our members (including win32, legacyfan, that guy who ran away, etc), they were all able to follow my hacks and got it working. But I didn't share anything ready-made, and not going to, esp. considering the enormous amount of hostility I encountered here lately, and you just've seen it yourself . -
I don't think his English is that bad, maybe you overexaggerated a bit. He just used it to drag himself off the hook, when I refused to simply swallow his baseless accusations, he accused me of something I didn't do, and then tried to blame it on his poor English. And yes, I'll not provide that person with any technical answer, someone who just insulted me *right out of the blue* (I don't even know who that is!). A recent case, where our wise moderator @Tommy asked me to just ignore such cases and move on, and I respect it. So I'm answering for everyone, except that moody member. And I shall not engage in a stupid bickering that he tries to drag me into again. First he said - not working, now he says "not true". But here we need to look and check the specs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_NVDEC , despite being budget, the card RTX2060 fully supports all 1080p/1440p/2160p hardware decoding formats, so how one could explain the fact it decodes on win 10, but not on win 8 ? Maybe chrome limits it, don't you think ? That's precisely the case. Besides, he didn't provide us with any kind of proof that he says he still can decode low resolutions like 1080p. And then again, I'm still not sure why he zealously continues to talk about windows 8.1 here, this topic is win 7 exclusively , and I talk about chrome and windows 7 ! EDIT : he zealously talks in all topics about win 8.1, despite being 100% off-topic

I already explained in the topic why I can't share the ready-made modded Opera versions here. It's illegal. Maybe you need to use some form of machine translation. https://msfn.org/board/topic/184249-chrome-110-based-opera-i-ported-it-to-vista/?do=findComment&comment=1233297 The link to the official Opera is here. You would need to mod it, but I no longer share the info on how to do it, due to a recent incident of its misuse/abuse. Now I can only share with the moderators, if they are interested. So your choice would be to download and wait for the Vista Kernel to be released (it will include my Opera hacks, also). https://get.opera.com/ftp/pub/opera-developer/96.0.4674.0/win/Opera_Developer_96.0.4674.0_Setup_x64.exe -
Yes, I know you were a good guy during that days.

"also" ? what else is "not true" ?
-
I see, well maybe need to edit that post then ? Not to confuse the others.

I'm sorry, you lost me, so do you still recommend it to others or not ? https://msfn.org/board/topic/184466-win7-die-hard-is-considering-linux/?do=findComment&comment=1239568

D.Draker replied to D.Draker's topic in Windows Vista
De-bloat, de-crapify Opera, these are the only files that it needs to run trouble free. EDIT : updated screenshot. @NotHereToPlayGames, for you ! I know you will appreciate (in contrast to some others). -
Yes, I'm all up for it too. legacyfan, it's a very wise decision, but it needs to be done asap, before he wakes up. Thank you, Tommy !
-
@Tommy You're absolutely right, you're a very nice person, I'll just put him to ignore list and move on. I'm pretty sure you also understand no guarantees he does the same.
-
@Tommy I removed this post since it's not related to the member that legacyfan, you and I honoured here. Sorry for the off-top, again you're right. I strongly suggest the others will follow my example and also remove their posts not related to the Memorial.

Here's a definitive answer for you and everyone who usually love to whine about how D.Draker deletes "too many" "needed" files. No, you didn't whine, I mean the others who did. That file is an extremely bugged piece of garbage, that has millions of different versions so the developers themselves put curses on it. I'd also add Vulkan, "Swift" Shader and OpenGL to that list. "..it uses the UCRT (universal CRT) which means that by default it does not run on all Windows 7 machines." https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=920704 Disable all that crap in chrome with flags, delete the files and you get a really fast browser !
-
Everyone will choose for themselves, I'll be on Vista, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make myself a ported chrome fork (be it Vista or 7). Stock up on the hardware, that's my advice. It's plenty of cheap goodies from those who moved to 11.
-
Also about the same extnison I already wrote about , think needs to be moved.
-
There's a dedicated topic with that extesion and I already wrote about it quite some time ago. I think it needs to be moved there since it's largely offtopic here @Dave-H, what say you ? https://msfn.org/board/topic/184357-chromium-forks-and-stuttering-video-playback/#comment-1236754

What I meant is, it doesn't work out of the box, it's still blocked, despite what that page shows you, and what you write is still hacks, not everyone will bother themselves to to do that. D3DCompiler_47 is some outdated crap for D3D9, from 15 years ago , it isn't even used when decoding. Maybe it's needed for some primitive online games , I dunno, I always delete it.

I'm not your mate (sorry to disappoint, I know you dream of it), and I suggest you to read some literature on how to address people who are not your relatives and/or school buddies, how to behave yourself among well-educated European people, how to watch your tongue, how to be polite, friendly and nice in general. Maybe then people will stop blocking you. P.S. A free advice from your free English teacher. If you use mate, then you also need to spell other words like the Brits do. Otherwise, it's ridiculously funny, when you mix words from the different variants of English, esp. in the same reply. But then again, please continue, I don't mind to have a good laugh ! About @XPerceniol, I'm not clairvoyant, I can't see what's in your mind/heart/whatever.

He was my pen-pal with whom we had no troubles understanding each other due to the fact his English was quite good and he didn't use any form of machine translation . Many things are lost in translation, you konw, his English was alive (like it needs to be), unlike many other foreigners ! I sometimes freaking want to put forks in my wonderful eyes, when I see someone who doesn't know the difference between steal and steel , affect and effect, or you're and your and so on !

Simple to explain, those who were still hanging onto Windows 7 is now moved on 'cause the browser support died off. So the OS is simply dead 'cause no gaming drivers and no hardware since 2015. I have a Kabylake (2016) and win 7 can't even proprely utilise the C sates on the CPU ! So no modern gaming , no browsing, no chrome on win 7 , etc. Funny thing as of now, even Vista is able to use more modern chrome (with hacks , of course). And windows 7 doesn't even have any usable form of ex-kernel.

My like goes to this part. And only to this, because it should matter. Many thanks. I'll definitely try ! I have a Bulgarian Gaz Mask in my collection,

Why ?!??!?! I'm a customer (so as you!). I have my rights (so as you!). I have the right to know where the product I'm going to use was made. What seems to be the problem here ? If it was made in a hostile country, I choose not to use it due to common sense, safety , love to my own country, not willing to support the enemy, who will use the profits against me/my country. What's wrong with that ? And even if that country is not openly hostile, I still have my right to refuse, simply because I don't like that country (for example). This is guaranteed by the French Constitution and our customer rights (all items in the stores must have a label clearly showing where they were produced).

Either of you ever tried 347.26 iCafe ? Should be good !

I'm sorry for the off-top, what archiver is that on the photo ? Could you suggest a good non-russian archiver ? 7zip is very glitchy. It can't even extract driver packages properly.
