Bad news - it looks like GDI dependencies were completely removed.

So today I tried to play with it and got all of the missing replaced and it launches in a matter of several milliseconds and then quits. I can see the main windows with aero and it is blank (white page). This is with the launcher, of course. Also it wanted me to replace SetProcessInformation (even though it was not shown in Dep. walker). And PrefetchVirtualMemory (was shown in the walker) had to be repaced too. SetProcessInformation and PrefetchVirtualMemory are Win 8 and up. The result is the same on Vista and Win 7. EDIT: No aero on Win 7, of course.

IMPORTANT: Whatever changes were made to the last October kernel, they are for the good ! I get much, much better performance in DX11 games. Esp. in the latest titles I recently ported to Vista. I mean the kernel32.dll.

This might help, but the last version is only 103. https://github.com/GTANAdam/GDIChromium

Then we need to turn off the bloody DirectWrite for Chrome on Windows 7 completely. I know they removed that flag a long time ago, but in some chinese forks - the flag still works, the problem is, no chinese forks on v.111 exist yet. I myself use a chinese fork I re-butchered for my needs, it's based on Chrome 102 and it has the flag to switch the DirectWrite off completely. What do you think of this idea ? We can compare and see the portion of that code in the fork. Also, don't forget - starting from 105 or so, everything is only soft, no hard rendering for windows 7 anymore. Surely it would be slower due to this also. EDIT: @win32see this comment and try to test the browser with krenel from October, locally. I just tried it and the 110 version loads up even faster and the responsiveness is amazing. https://msfn.org/board/topic/181612-wip-windows-vista-extended-kernel/?do=findComment&comment=1236240

This all is so damn complicated, why do you need to stuff your head with it ? Any ways to give a flying (4 letter word) ? Just ignore and live for yourself, no ? The last time I watched TV was during the fall of the wall. My mother used to watch TV all her life and now she is brain-dead. Scary future awaits you, if you don't stop.

It was interrupted when I tried to install the ancient DX9 (which the japs still use! ) , the bloody junk from 2000s.

I assume you talk about the 111 version ? Did you try to apply the huge list of flags I gave you ? A few seconds is still slow, on my 14 years old PC (2009) with mechanical HDD Chrome 110 starts in 0.5 sec or smth like that. That is with that flags and the Dixel's launcher. I f you still use the old launcher, it needs to be re-butchered because starting from 92 (or so) chrome had changed the user data dir path.

No, it's not . I already told you, I ran it on my GF's PC with DX11 on Win 7, and there's no such thing as DX12 with win 7. It even shows FPS in D3D11 mode, even though I have a fully featured DX12 card. BTW, this topic is about Vista, in case you hadn't noticed.

Vulcan is more like an alternative method, it works off of DX11, officially. Got that game on my GF's PC , where Volcano wasn't even installed, it ran fantastically. Did I miss something ? When did you port that driver to Vista ?

Thank you for the advice ! I'll try, I think the values should be different though. 26.21.4.4229 , not 24.21.4.4229. 24 is for the older gen., in the 3xx range. I got ported Injustice 2 (also was not supposed to run on Vista). You can try it , a good game and it's easy to mod. GetThreadErrorMode replace with GetErrorMode in the exe file . All of the others are in your kernel already, no need to replace them. and add these three: concrt140.dll , vcruntime140.dll , msvcp140.dll (from Visual 2017). It will work with 382.16 and your GTX 650 ! But I have no sound in the game, what could be the reason ? Thanks.

Well, it's only one type of games that have this problem, the ones that are ported from XBox. Thank you for the link. I tried to install these DLLs right when the music was playing, it had a cracking sound, music interrupted and then I could hear my super grade audio got that dreaded cheap sound of mp3. I listen to 24bit 192Khz on my PC. I asked win32. I had to reinstall the whole system to get my quality back ! So they aren't just sitting ...

You have to measure your blood pressure ASAP ! Could be low pressure , and get well soon ! It's not uncommon when people talk about PC games on a PC forum, you know. I think PC games are good, not all, but some are very good.

And what do you guys think ?

Actually it would be more like the Fourth. 1st I was heating up, second - self inflicted injury (not due to clumsiness) - so it was shorter (not full). The 3rd one - very adventorous and I liked it. But MK 11 on Vista, I couldn't live without it ! The reds would have to wait. Maybe I'll not go there anymore at all. It's a quite expensive adventure. But I'll not tell for sure, let them live in fear ...

@win32, RDR2 (DX11 title) wants me to have version 442.29 or newer. I say no, and it quits itself, I changed the values in the registry, still says 442.29 is requred and quits. Ideas ? Funny thing it doesn't whine I'm on Vista. Folks are having the same issue : https://steamcommunity.com/app/1174180/discussions/0/1742267854814479611/

1 - Yes. 2 - Yes. I have no sound in the game because it wants me to install DX9 (!) 9.0b or c from 2000, why do I need it, I don't understand. The game itself runs on DX11.1 and I have a dedicated gaming sound card based on DX11.0. Will you help me with making a portable sound fix ? thank you !

Yes, a very hot and blood thirsty PC game for Windows Vista (which was blocked from running there, and I hacked it). Calm down about what ?

This method is also based on my discovery (from my ported Opera 96 on Chrome 110), and I'm against sharing it in public, I already told @win32 about it. Why ? Simply because you all could easily end up with nothing when the evil developers read this topic. Just wait for new kernel to be ready, you will all get it then ! Be patient . Besides, you ask about win 8.1, which is not being discussed here.

nvwss is some crappy online cloud storage plugin that installs on pro grade cards (like Quadro and Titan). It is located inside of the NvCplSetupInt.exe (installer). I only use the British language installer ("Int"), maybe it's not there in the North American version (NvCplSetupEng.exe) ? To hell with it, I deleted it and I never used it anyways. I can't even boot past the Orb if I install the 398 with the NVCPL, without the CPL the driver itself works alright, but I can't answer your question, I don't know how it would look like with the 398.11. Go to the ProgramFiles/NVIDIA Corporation/Display - there you will find the files that are responsible for Video, TV and 3D settings. Example : nvGameS.dll is for the American version of 3D settings, nvGameSR.dll is for the British language of them. (where they properly spell colour, etc). nvViTvSR.dll is for the TV settings colour (Britsih). nvDispSR.dll is for your British display (monitor) settings, those are language only, so you also need the ones without the "R". So if you were able to boot, and the files are in place, you could choose the settings, in theory.

My Third Tour to Ukraine is indefinitely delayed, 'cause I finally made MK11 work on Vista !
