  1. But that is great for me! I was actually looking for something I can just run quickly to delete all the temp files but have not gotten around to doing it myself! Thanks!
  2. WoW! somebodys touchy! I actually used to be kind of like you where I was all anti-microsoft. Now I am all about microsoft. I have learned to give in and accept microsoft as the great computer giant it is and work with them instead of bash them.
  3. Is it the process or the program that you are trying to end? Is it is a process, what is the name of it and why are you sure that is the one causing the problems? Mabey it realy is a system process that cannot be stoped. Make sure you have the right processes before you kill something that might turn ur computer off
  4. Thank god! I was reading the first page and was shocked nobody mentioned spysweeper! I used to use mainly spybot, adaware, and M$ until one of my co-workers started raving about spysweeper. I tried it and find it catches more then adaware or spybot. You still really need to run a few diff programs to get it all.
  5. Correct me if I am wrong but also not all hotfixes use the :integrate command. For example KB890830. You need to add after the XP install.
  6. Steam like from Valve? I think you would have to create your own custom install for that. You can try making a backup of your current steam folder and copy that to a CD. Its something like start-->run-->steam://backup/ Check this link out http://forums.gamespace.net.au/printthread.php?t=2547
  7. I have been playing LOTR 3rd age. good game
  8. I find it interesting that so many ppl have the exact opposite problem that I did. I did not want it to prompt me and it did
  9. Don't forget to clear the cache and your cookies as well. Don't worry about that you already joined the domain. Just right click my computer. Goto properties computer name and Join a workgroup. I find it easy to name the workgroup the same as the domain so it’s quicker when u join it in post-ghost. I am pretty sure it is part of ghost 2003, if not PM me. You need to look for the ghost server exe to do a multicast. Run that from the server, it should all be automatic if you use DHCP. Just run ghost.exe from a boot disk on the workstations. Also do it at a time when nobody else is on the network because using ghost KILLS your network speed! Espically when you push down an image onto 32 machines at the same time.
  10. Here is my Winnt.sif file. I hope this will help where it prompts you to enter a user name. If you find the line that you change to get it to work please lemme know! 11. I hope I can be of some assistance. I work for a fairly big school district (over 6000 workstations and 80 servers) If every PC you have is identical both software and hardware wise ghost is DEFINATLY the best option for you. Install EVERYTHING you need on one pc. All the updates and everything. Do NOT join the domain. Dump the image off to some server. You can do a multicast session and ghost all the machines overnight. Then boot off a boot disk and run ghstwalk.exe. This will allow you to re-name each computer and it generates a new SID as well. Boot up and join the domain. Your set  As far as the CD Keys, it doesn’t matter as long as you have the licenses the keys do not matter. We have thousands of computers with the same exact key here but we have a license for each one. Good luck!
  12. I have the exact opposite problem. I do NOT want it to prompt me to add users yet it still does. this is my guiunattended from my winnt.sif [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=2 OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=35 OemSkipWelcome=1 *EDIT* by the way is using 1 the same thing as having a yes? Same with 0 and No. Like is the number 0 and the word No interchangeable?
  13. Yeah dude, you gotta do it yourself. Not only for licencing but this way you can customize it the way you want it and make it perfect for you. Plus its fun to learn! And you have a place like msfn.org to help you out. The people here are great!

  15. I am going to assume you are not part of a domain. The simple answer to this would be make the users part of the administrators group. If you can not do that right click on the C drive and goto sharing and security. In the security tab give everybody full control. Hope this helps! Now if somebody can help me on my htread! http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=41425

  17. Download the MP10Setup.exe from microsfot and put it in $OEM$\$1\Install\applications then put the following in a cmd file and add it to runonce: start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\MP10Setup.exe /q:A /c:"setup_wm.exe /Q /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore"
  18. Wow! I can't believe how many other people here hate smokers like I do. Which is kind of weird since I’m a POTHEAD! But I can not stand cig smoke; it makes me sick by giving me a headache. I hate watching parents smoke around their kids to it makes me so angry knowing that the kids are dealing with the 2nd hand smoke and have a much higher change of smoking when they grow up. The only reason that smoking cigs is legal in the USA is because of the money that it brings in via taxes. For that same reason they should legalize marijuana and tax it the same way. I think that’s better then cigs anyway less addicting. www.thetruth.com is a GREAT website also and I love their commercials.
  19. I like Office 2003 as well. I never ever liked WordPerfect
  20. it worked, thanks sonic. This forum and website is F*ckin awesome!
  21. Is it possible?? I now have a Windows XP CD where i have all the possible updates slipstreamed in expect for the ones that can not be and those are installed at the end. I cannot figure out howto get the journal viewer installed silently without prompting the user for any options.. Has anybody been able to? I did a search and didnt find anybody posting anything about it really.
  22. Right but the whole point of this CD is that I can pop it into any computer and it will automaticly install XP with all my software.
  23. I got the auto-confirm here As far as the drivers, asta thanks for the link but this CD will be used for many machines of many different types I cannot pre-load the drivers for all machines that Iw ill be using on here.
  24. The thing I was afraid of with setting the display settings that high 32 bit and 1024x768 with 75 refresh is what if it cant find the proper display drivers. Generic drivers cannot support 1024x768...
