My Browser Builds (Part 5)
mina7601 replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I do, but then, after some weeks, YouTube ceases to work (doesn't let me play videos) when I block ads, so I turned off adblockers on YouTube completely. -
My Browser Builds (Part 5)

For me, it's not garbage, so I am a unique one. -
Yeah, sorry, forgot to include a recording. Here it is. See the last part especially, where it stops resizing at a certain length. Is that also expected as well? https://streamable.com/oxmcrr Link is vaild for 2 days.

If you are talking about the old Quick Launch toolbar: Right click on the taskbar, select "Lock the taskbar" (if it has a checkmark, it will be cleared to unlock the taskbar, if it's locked), then right click on the taskbar again. A new "Toobars" submenu will appear. Move your cursor to that, then click "New toolbar...". Paste this, then press Enter: %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch Then click "Select Folder". Quick Launch toolbar will appear on your taskbar.

I noticed a strange bug. Open the Start menu, right click on the recent programs pane (left pane), and switch between Small icons, Medium icons and Large icons respectively. Repeat that, and notice that the Start menu resizes itself when you do that.

Yes, I am aware. I meant for those who click on links. No, I mean, when I click on the first link in your post (which has the https://web.archive.org/web/20240908221027/ part), instead of actually directing to https://web.archive.org/web/20240908221027/https://msfn.org/board/profile/439450-saxon/, it directs to https://msfn.org/board/profile/439450-saxon/ instead. Please correct the link in your post.

My Browser Builds (Part 5)

I believe it's this one: https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/comm-esr78/rev/6e1d49280545bb8996902c188e4823e738e83b7c Added in Thunderbird v78. @roytam1 What say you? Is it possible to apply this to MailNews? -
I use StopUpdates10, and it blocks Windows Update entirely for me.

Yup, it's him. 4 years ago. https://msfn.org/board/topic/180462-my-browser-builds-part-2/?do=findComment&comment=1187647 -
If you are referring to mypal-68.14.4.en-US.win32-sse.zip, yes, it's a version for processors with SSE instruction set only.
-
Thanks for that, yeah, InnoUnpack.exe v1.9.5 runs under XP SP3 normally.
-
Off-topic, but why do you need that old browser anyway? Get rid of that, and use Mypal 68 instead. https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/releases
-
Thanks for the information, didn't know there's a version that works on XP. So, no need to use Windows 7 to extract an Inno Setup file.
-
@VistaLover Thank you very much for the information, unfortunately, InnoUnpacker v1.9.5 is not compatible with Windows XP, so I had to run that under a supported OS (Windows 7, for example), extracted CPU-Z's setup using it, and found a .iss file there. All what I had to do is install an old version of Inno Setup Compiler, one that supports XP (in this case, v5.6.1), load the .iss file from there, and then compile the setup. The v2.11 setup installer now runs again under Windows XP. PS: Added back old wizard bitmaps for fun.
-
It will not work. You will get a "not a vaild Win32 application" error when attempting to open the installer.
-
The installer is bulit with a version of Inno Setup newer than 5.x (last version branch to support XP), that's why it doesn't work.
-
Sorry for the bump, but there it is. https://msfn.org/board/topic/103405-win98-like-shellstyle-for-winxp/

Supermium 126 R3: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/releases/tag/v126-r3

Supermium 126 R2 release: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/releases/tag/v126-r2
-
Yeah, and that's bad.
-
Yeah, also noticed that. I haven't tried Start11, but I would rather stay away from Stardock's products, especially after discovering that they need your email address to use them even in trial mode. Nothing beats SaB in my opinion, not even Open Shell.
-
If you meant this response, he just said it is noted, but it being noted doesn't necessarily mean it will make it into the next release.
-
There's a release version of Supermium 126 (r1, as indicated by the tag): https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/releases/tag/v126-r1 Yeah, much faster releases.
