  1. What command did you use to download all of WUv4? Many files download me in 0kb
  2. Hey what command did you use to download?, from what I see you use Windows Me
  3. https://web.archive.org/web/20050601000000*/v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/mstoolbar.aspx https://web.archive.org/web/20050601000000*/v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/footer.aspx https://web.archive.org/web/20050601000000*/v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/toc.aspx https://web.archive.org/web/20050901000000*/v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/splash.aspx
  4. How do you know that? v5 also closed in 2006, instead of 2011 like v4.
  5. wayback_machine_downloader http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3-19990518/cabpool/ --to 20100901171105 --concurrency 20 This command downloads updates for all windows, curiously this link is sacred since even copy the links and they are still online even if it is 9x.
  6. Where does windows update v6 download the nt 5.x updates after everything is removed on August 3, 2020 from the download center?
  7. Nope, and I still don't know why. We have both v3 and v4 sites but checking for updates doesn't work at all
  8. I already discovered the problem, the problem is that the WU4 pages almost all use the GET method, like "splash.asp?page=3" and IIS does not detect the files since they are in ASCII. So replace asp with php and add a conditional for each GET method.
  9. On XP SP3, 2008 SP2 and 98 SE. It asks me to install the 2002 activex, but it gets stuck. Apparently the problem is iuident.cab
  10. Try editing the hosts file by adding v4.windows update.microsoft.com, v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and windows.update.com, and it should work (add all three even if you use only v4).
  11. I have created my own WUv4 server on Windows server 2008, and used a 2003-2004 version of redirect.js modified to recognize Windows NT 6 and IE7. There seems to be progress in our project. Internet Explorer asks me to install an ActiveX called "Windows Update v4 Control", I'm going to try it on older systems like Windows 98 or 2000 and see what happens. P.D: in Windows 98 SE with IE5.01 it also works Whoever wants to test if redirect.js works, I leave you a folder in google drive for the project, enter the v4 folder and there you have it: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/15JT0RqUKMbKtnMHM1qeJjbW6rVjw4evQ?usp=sharing
  12. 92000 files! this looks curious, I'm going to try that command, I remember downloading something similar at the beginning of 2019 but there were 84853 files.
  13. Does anyone know if Windows Update v1 and v2 existed? Since the oldest I hear is v3. Windows Update v5 is "almost" the same as v6, the design is identical, almost the same functionality. For me the reason v6 replaced v5 was Microsoft Update. Although it is not bad to revive Windows Update v5 with IIS, although the one that matters most to us is v4.
  14. Rather in my opinion they are blocking it. Why would the domains be active if the site closed more than 10 years ago? Why on the v6 page are there v5 resources? This reminds me that v6 can now only be used with fe2.update.microsoft.com and not www.update.microsoft.com as of August 2020. I pinged v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com (v4), v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com (v5), and www.update.microsoft.com (old v6). And all three redirect me to redir.update.microsoft.com.nsatc.net which means they are redirect sites.
  15. What if we convert WU4 from asp to aspx? In total, it is the backend part. By the way, the project that was on youtube has nothing to do with the original WU4 since it is in HTML and uses WSUS to check for updates.
  16. Dismiss what I wrote above in "I have tried Windows 11 and I will tell you my experience", everything Windows 10 1903+ sucks, bugs with pre-Skylake architectures, consumes half the RAM (especially Windows Defender). In addition, the new LTSC 2021 only has support for 5 years instead of 10 as it always was. And Windows 11... it's just a 21H2 with a much worse design layer than iOS 7 even if you don't have Alder Lake say goodbye to your processor, an awkward context menu, inability to pin, it was never so difficult to open the task manager... Apparently Micro$oft like Intel want us to pollute the planet by throwing away 95% of our PC's to buy Alder Lake, and use a TPM 2.0 that doesn't make any sense being a Windows 10 with a customization layer. The only one left in the future is 1607 LTSB or 1809 LTSC, since this is supported until 2029 (the new posready 2009), 7 more years, unlike normal Windows 10 that has it until 2025. The good thing about Windows 11 being a WIndows 10 with an ugly design layer is that we can easily avoid them with an extended kernel (fewer differences than 8.0 and 8.1), although we won't need it until 2025-2027. This video demonstrates that Windows 11 is Windows 10 with a horrible design layer:
  17. A desktop PC will also work, but you'll need a PS/2 keyboard. The best motherboards are from ASUS as they have Audio drivers for Windows 2000 as they use VIA, like Realtek Gigabit ethernet which is very useful. In series 6 motherboards we will find the P8H61 (basic but not having USB 3.0 we save ourselves problems). As well as the P8P67 and P8Z68 are a good option if you are going to use the server versions that support 8GB+ of RAM, but I do not know if the ASMedia drivers work in 2000, although it comes with COM and LPT on the motherboard that can be used for older hardware . In series 7 we will find P8B75 (the one I have at the moment) and P8Z77. It is better (for 2000 only) series 7 than series 6 in USB 3.0 aspect since it can be disabled (for XP and Vista use P67 or Z68). I comment the motherboards since despite being released 2 years after the end of support they work 100% as far as drivers are concerned. It's like Alder Lake running on Windows 7 or Rocket Lake running on Vista.
  18. Do you have IE9-11 on W2k? Or it's a fake modded IE6?
  19. As you say, it works without any anomaly! Both on Windows 2000, XP and 2003 x64 (didn't try x86).
  20. This is Windows Update v6 on Windows 2000 SP4 Pro running in 2022! And this is Windows Update v6 on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 running in 2022! This method is much better, plus it doesn't require as many updates. Only the ProxHTTPSProxy 1.3 and updating the root certificates, such as installing the patched wuaueng.dll and a registry file. I didn't even install IE8 and it's already working, I'm even using IE5.5 on Windows 2000.
