  1. True but I also think that you inherit a lot of your personality from your parents. You may not exactly be like them but on occasion you will hear someone say "you're just like your Uncle _______" or "Aunt _____" and they can be someone you have never met. Either way, you are responsible for you own actions. Read it carefuly. It is stating exactly that besides other environments. Phoenix- 90/10 has been around for a long time.
  2. lol.. I just got 100% dumber
  3. I understand. Even in college you will get these Professors. I have had several, one being a scientist for NASA, his people communication skills was awful but he knew what he was talking about. You just need to stick in there even if it's unbearable to deal with. Get with some classmates and overview on topics. You’re not the only one who feels this way in your class.
  4. I think thats funny... two people have already conceived the idea. You can not do anything. More or less that shipment may have gotten run over by a truck and some teenage stockboy just threw it in the truck after. I can guarantee the driver did not know that the package was like that till he grabbed it once he arrived. If FedEx refused payment or responsibility for the damage then, ya, something could be done but it will be **** hard to prove that FedEx would be at fault.
  5. As I always say, $hit happens.
  6. Interesting that you accepted the package. Unless the packageing material was flawlessly clean and not a scratch on it. I always open my packages before I even sign off on the delivery.
  7. Looks like something that happens with USPS and UPS. Well for FedEx thats the first I seen. Was the Case 'PROPERLY" packaged.. I doubt that it was if it came back looking like that and you excepted the delivery. You need to check your deliveries before you sign off on them, open the box.
  8. If I remember correctly, lite-on jumped the market so quickly they pushed crap out the door to get noticed. I am not saying everything they manufactured then was bad, it's just that some products that are bad end up being shipped. Possible reasons you could have gotten a bad rom is that a new guy started testing the boards, a bad transitor in the package, janitor spilled his coffee on the shipping crate, etc.. etc.. Testing boards is a tedious project. I use to test Tiger boards for IBM while in college and I mean test... 100's of cards stacked on a cart that has above 20-30 shelves on it and about 20-30 cards per and probably 30-40 carts in an 8hr period. Then you sit at your station swaping cards out after they "Pass" or "Fail" a current and diagnostics batch. Some cards fail the first time, but this neccessarily does not mean there bad so you need to run the batch 2-3 times. So sometimes a bad card does get slipped onto a production cart just because the process wears a person out. Some companies are automated, but as far as I know lite-on is not. I'd be more then understanding getting a bad rom, but if it happend 3-4 consecutive times, I would start questioning. But I find it interesting that there support is unbearable; I hear the opposite. Astalavista most warrenties within the states are 30days, thats including OEM products. However, some companies have sub quotes regarding there policies, even if they do fall 2-7 days after a warrenty expires, they usually honor it unless you get some jerk behind the desk. It all depends on what you say to them and if your really nice they may even give some goodies.
  9. Ya, Lite-On has really placed themselves in the market quickly. They design & manufacture most of ALL the parts for there products, which is why they are so cost efficient. Not only that, being headed by some of the top engineers around the world, they design some of the best products out there. Personally, I like to place Lite-On and Plexwriter on the same scale for CD/DVD roms. But Plexwriter is probably the most expensive out there next to Sony/Pioneer. It's a pitty I do not even own a Lite-On, but I hear & read so much positive feedback regarding there products. Now that I am thinking about it I think I will get one and follow up with them more closely. I wasnt aware they were pretty much shipping out new brands on a monthly basis, respectively.
  10. Lite-On is actually pretty good. Headed by some of the top engineers all across the world. http://www.liteonit.com/
  11. Ripken, MSI is not bad either. Just as good as Asus. This is a killer deal, if you want to forfeit your AIW. I think your rushing things, you can get a better system and save more money while your wait. Computer deals are always around and every passing moment they get better and better. Research is the key.. slowdown and read up on the hardware your going to purchase before you purchase it. If you end up buying this stuff and it doesnt seem it's what you wanted your going to pull a s*** load out of your a** to send it back and RMA, re-stock charges, etc... etc... Take your time. Astalavista I wonder if they send you that same exact poster with the box
  12. Astalavista wow... Thermaltake is serious about fanless.... lol
  13. You want to stay above 400+ watts. Your building a PC so you need to leave room for upgrades.
  14. Oh, thats Enermax... I heard not so good things about them. But they may have changed. However, Fanless sounds like something I would look into. Anyhow, Ripken, it's best that you fork out a little more for your power supply. It's the most valuable piece of hardware. Just don't rush into building your PC, I know your estatic to get started, but calm down a little and take a breath. You would be very thankful that you did.
  15. u know what i think i might order one of these Ya, killer deal... only thing is I would toss the motherboard and case and use the other peripherials to build another PC
  16. Seems to me your setup is fine but with a few comments. The power supply.. I am a bit skeptical about... if your going to purchase a power supply go for Antec. You will also want to get 1Gb of ram, 512 is very insufficient in this day and age. AND what brand is your memory???? Antec: http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=20481 (if you like customization) or http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=24480# (personally use this) Buy it here
  17. Seems everyone here has good info for you to start out with. But for being your first self built PC I would not suggest water-cooling. Water-cooling could get very expensive if you do not know what your doing, even with the easiest kits available. Get to know more about building a computer and after about 6months- a year then switch to water-cooling. PC building is not something that is done overnight... you need to spend time and do research on information i.e. motherboards, processors, memory, hard disk drives, and any other 3rd party peripherials. (which I assume your trying to do here) Great! But before considering building a PC that someone has all the hardware picked out for you is not good. When I first started building my PC's my first one took me 3months to figure out what I wanted. I still take my time and research on what I am going to purchase. You need to make considerations on upgrades and compatibility for future hardware software. Also, a good resource to look for hardware http://www.pricewatch.com/ Just remember this keyword: 'RESEARCH' before you buy.
  18. We will yell at you if you come back
  19. I agree. A lot can be done to get rid of the unnesessary features to bring MSFN to life, not that it already is. The old style was nice and I personally liked it, however the new skin kinda killed the purpose of the site, no offense xper. Change is not bad either
  20. msfn is not professional site. professional designers want $2.000-$3.000. sure. anyway, i put it online just to see reactions before i do forum upgrade but it seems that will not happen any time soon. It's basically a skin for vB, simple. It looks good & MSFN has not had a change for some time to it's front page. However, for being nearly a 'Professional' site I would consider other designs, since many Professionals do visit the site & post often. Less cluckiness is appeals more to the eye and easier on page load. Cheers, to the fella who made a nice design (his personal taste), but it's not MSFN style. I just came up with a few suggestions: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/epi..._msstyle_ii.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/epi...ome_msstyle.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/epi...SFN/msfn_ss.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/epi...msstyle_gii.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/epi...e_msstyle_g.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/epi...style_plain.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/epi...tyle_gplain.png
  21. I can guarantee you if you spend some time within the Warez network you will be able to pick up several hundred. 1. Have anti-virus installed on your VM (But disable it) 2. After your browsed - Re-enable your anti-virus 3. Run a scan (make sure you "Quaratine" instead of delete to a specified directory)
  22. I have seen this with my machine as well as others. It happens without warning. It seems it is a problem with SP2 but have not figured it out. The only solution I have found is to physically remove the drivers and the card and reinstall.
  23. Nice... I like the black texture. Wish you did it in Flat black however.
  24. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=320306 http://www.google.com/search?q=OEMLOGO.BMP...:en-US:official That simple!
