  1. Dear Dave-H , please tell us why you locked the topic about NTlite ?

This is still relevant because this software is actually being actively developed/supported.

    Thanks.

Doesn't look like NTLite's developer comes here anymore. Their own forum is active: https://www.ntlite.com/community/index.php

There's probably a 3 dots button. At least it's there for normal forum posts.

  3. There needs to be a check made to see if the subscriptions are working. While I have been a member there has been no deductions taken from my PayPal account or from earlier; my bank account. I have been a Silver then Gold supporter but no transactions have been made.

I donated yesterday, it was subtracted from my card, got redirected to MSFN donations page at the end, but the site doesn't show I donated. :} Please, check it.

  4. One thing that irritates me to no end in other communities; it's when someone asks a question and instead of answering the question, the answerer rebukes with another question. "Why do you want to use twenty year old technology? Either get with the times or be left behind."

Here's some food for thought. Either answer the question at hand or don't say anything at all. You don't need to know my reason for using retro technology for the sake of telling me I'm old fashion and refuse to get with the times. I never could understand why others feel the need to act superior because they choose to use the "latest and greatest".

I totally agree with you, I'd say it's just basic etiquette to not say anything if you don't know the answer, especially if all you were going to say otherwise is to steer the topic in a completely irrelevant direction.

If something works for someone, it works, doesn't matter if it's old or new.

It's how humans operate. Need to control others, seeking validation for their own choices... I don't waste my energy trying to understand it, it is what it is.

I got similar vibes you're describing here at multiple occasions, not a whole lot different from other places, just swap the software versions around. So I don't think it's that great over here as some think, in fact, I dare to say it's gotten worse over the years.

      I'm fine. I didn't disappear, I just don't come here every day.

  7. Do MSFNers use Windows 10 with updates enabled?

They're disabled, I prefer updating manually when noting else is being done on the machine. I run what was supposed to be the last version of Win10 1809 before EOS at work laptop and my personal laptop. They were on older builds for months and I figured few bug fixes there and there won't hurt, in the odd chance that I run into them.

Main desktop is still on November 2019 build of Win 1909. Maybe I'll update to the later cumulative update at some point.

Not sure about later builds. MS just keeps messing with Explorer and there hasn't been any under the hood change that I'd take along with Explorer's giant search bar.

  8. On Facebook, people do not delete or remove messages, they "unsend" them now.

This is English, not Newspeak. Or is it?

It looks like it does at the first glance.

What happened to FB anyway? I rarely login to messenger since it's really the only use I have for it, but I logged in to the main site today and the UI is atrocious, it looks like mobile interface with no style zoomed in to fit the PC screen. :puke:

Apparently you could spoof an older browser user agent in the past to get back the sane UI, but now, when you get low enough, it just redirects to the mobile site...
