  2. Hi, Sorry I should have been a bit more specific, currently the files are sitting on our file server there is about 30GB of data, I then need to move the files off of the file server to our Network Attached Storage. But I dont want to move the whole lot, I only want to move files within a certain time frame. It would be easier for me to move these files using the last modified dates, as the creation dates are in accurate because the server was only installed backing Dec 2002, so the creation dates of the files show up as only being created in Dec 2002. Thanks, Hudson-Manx
  3. Hi, I have been given the task at work to clear out files on one of our drives, but I need to move files within a certain time frame. Does anyone know of any software that I can buy to do this, ideally I would like the software to move the files by last modified date. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks, Hudson-Manx
  4. We officially have the Michael Schumacher of Benchmarks, congratualations Elite!!
  5. We had a simular problem posted here about a week ago. You mention you have switched off Automatically Reboot option. After the machine reboots have you looked in the event logs to see if there are any errors? When your machine reboots does it boot straight away or does it check the disk drive(s). Thanks
  6. AMD 1.4 GHZ 512MB DDR Geforce 3 MAXTOR 60GB HD - 7200RPM CPU Score = 3624 Memory Score = 2618 HDD Score = 821 This test was done on my work machine, I will try my home computer tonight to see what that comes up with.
  7. I am upgrading my machine at the moment, I decided on a Asus A7V333 with Raid, 6 Channel audio and 1394 port. for processor I went for a Athlon XP 2000+ , Corsair DDR2700 memory. Fthrjack is right AMD is a more cost effective way to go, and in most cases out performs the Pentium 4 and leaves it for dead. AMD gets my vote everytime!!
  8. Sorry about my spelling mistake in the subject.
  9. This is totally nuts, its ok if your cooker packs up i suppose. http://www.handyscripts.co.uk/trubador_egg.htm Thanks
  10. I will find the article on how to fry an egg in your PC and post it. Thanks
  11. Must be nuts, I saw an article about how to fry and egg within your computer. Some people just take things a little to far.
  12. I like the Coolermaster Cases, nice ventilation Thanks
  13. Check your power up timers, in the bios, they might have accidentely been activated.
  14. Thanks Xperties, I checked most of the KB on technet, but nothing concrete. I will try the suggestion about changing memory and see what they does. Failing that I will tweak the pagefiling. Thanks
  15. you can get brackets to mount a hard drive into one of the CD bays.
  16. I will try that this weekend and see if it makes a difference. The thread that Xperties posted was totally irrelevant to the stop error I have. My stop error is nothing to do with setup or clean installs, the machine boots fine but intermittently I gives a stop error. I think Reverend's post may be helpful, as I upgraded the memory in this particular machine about 2 months ago, since then it has had this error I think. I will let you know how it goes. Many thanks,
  17. No, it just does it at random. Sometimes it will go for hours before bringing up the Stop error.
  18. On one of my older crap machines I keep getting this STOP error, I have checked on M$ Support and cant seem to find a resolution for the problem. I got this error first of all DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP : 0x000000D1 (0x3384254, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x33384254) Now everytime I reboot I get a blue screen with a totally different error code. Any ideas far short of throwing out the machine!!
  19. In the Windows XP disk management does that drive have a letter assigned? Sometimes if a drive letter is unassigned it will just say unknown file system.
  20. Out of Office Assistant only works if your mail host is using MS Exchange Server. With Exchange servers although the Out of office is set on the client computer its the Exchange server that alerts the sender that the person is out of office.
  21. I would use the recovery console to repair your broken install, to do this you will need to use your Windows XP CD. Place your CD in your CDROM drive then boot from CD. Press F2 key to start the ASR. You may be prompted to insert a floppy disk, just press return. Your CD should then take you to the recovery console, you will be prompted by recovery console asking which installation of Windows you want to repair, choose the drive Windows XP is installed on. Then you will be asked for your administrator password. If you have no admin password just press enter to continue. Now you will see a command prompt, type chkdsk /p this will begin checking your windows XP source files and repairing them. Hopefully this will sort out your problem. If your problem is solved I would recommend installing the Recovery Console incase of future problems. See technical articles below on Microsoft support. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q307545 How to install recovery console; click the following link http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q307654 Hope this works for you. Thanks
  22. I use Office XP standard edition as I dont like Frontpage 2002, and I would never use Access 2002. I mainly use Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. If you are a PowerPoint user and do lots of presentations for business etc its well worth upgrading as there are more animation builds in PowerPoint 2002. I would recommend upgrading, as Office XP has much more functionality. Thanks
  23. Its not one of the guys from Chillblast starting this?
  24. Thanks, I checked that link out when my problem started. It didnt help one bit.
