After having run rock stable in what seems like forever, my XP Pro suddenly died this morning. When trying to boot up my system it says that /windows/system32/config/system is deleted or damaged and it stops. I've tried booting under last stable setup and the same happens. Is there any way to repair this or am I screwed???
It still doesn't want to burn. I tried 3 different discs, so I guess that isn't the problem. http://chocoboy.pointclark.net/img/home/plextor3.jpg Admin edit:[/color:96a8f4f879] Its ok to use http:// as long as Automatically Parse URLs is unchecked when you make a new post/reply. I've updated the firmware to 1.03 and now it shows as a plextor in bios, but still as cd-rom in windows. I made a clean windows install back when it was released and I justed popped the plextor in today...
I've changed it to master, nothing happened. Still a cd-rom drive... In the bios it detects as some kind of gibberish(random characters), but during boot it displays as a plextor...
Hi... Win XP detects my new Plextor 24x (IDE) writer as a cd-rom drive... Because of this I can't get the built-in cd-writing to work. Does anybody have some help or tricks to get to work.... PS. It's installed as slave on the 2nd controller....
Hi I'm having a small problem with the notification area. No matter how long time I don't use an icon there, it won't auto hide it... I have auto hide turned on, so that is not the problem. Does anybody how fix for this???? ChocoBoy
