My PC keeps rebooting at random times

Featured Replies

Problems that i am having in XP is very annoying because i have formatted the hard drive to NTFS and it is my new PC. The problems i am having is that my pc rebooot at random times, even while i am installing some programs, or playing some games, My PC runs at full speed and at other times its running slow. The "Automatically Reboot" feature is unchecked in the advanced options.

Can anyone help me try to solve the problems?

We had a simular problem posted here about a week ago. You mention you have switched off Automatically Reboot option. After the machine reboots have you looked in the event logs to see if there are any errors?

When your machine reboots does it boot straight away or does it check the disk drive(s).

Thanks

Alot of people forget that the P4 requirese a bit more power then the standard CPU, thus the P4 MOBOs have these small little power cords coming off them that your P4 complient Power supply should have a special plug for. it gives it the little boost it needs. Check it out, this could be the casue of your troubles!
