  5. crap i cant find the link, it was on dfi street but since thats gone now im not sure where to find it again. but it was for the dfi nf4 board and it was a very nice thermal pic for where ppl should add those tiny heatsinks to chips.
  6. its not the vista boot that needs to be fixed... i just did the fixboot and it worked for my xp, but now my vista is screwed, so i just deleted it. i just dont have a need for vista till i have an 8900gt and dx10 games are out.
  7. well ive been reading up on it and apparently it is more or a vista problem... but people have been able to fix it by just reinstalling vista and vegas... there are also new nvidia vista drivers out if you care to try them. from what ive been reading the warning are just warnings, it doesnt matter how fast your cpu is. also try running the game as an administrator. and i hope its not a problem with your dell version of vista... that would really suck. if you really want to play then i guess you could install xp.
  8. jeremy- that silencer is compatible with his card and both of our cards. dont you love it
  9. check your event viewer for an error, could be a directx error but i dont see how since its a brand new install of vista. also what video card do u have? it needs to have Shader Model 3.0
  10. if its not the fan then its the power connector... or he just has a faulty fan... it happens.
  11. and does this problem occur on all of those surfaces?
  12. well for just a fan replacement you would have to contact the manufacturer of the heatsink... i would highly suggest what i posted there. yes, you will have to remove your entire heatskink and put this one on...
  13. wow thats a helpful site, thx.
  14. what type of surface are you on?
  15. while on the subject, does anyone know if there is a detailed site about vista services like how blackviper was for xp?
  16. why not just use tables with a fixed size?
  17. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835186133
  18. what is the exact error? give a screenshot. and you have reinstalled it?
  19. you tried this and it worked? right now it detects the files but says they are invalid. and when i had vista + xp working before all the files were just on the main directory of the xp partition.
  20. well what i did was copied the needed boot files from my xpcd to the xp parition. but this is the error i get: invalid boot.ini file booting from c:\windows ntdetect failed
  21. do you have the latest video card drivers, cpu drivers if there are any, mobo drivers, mobo bios? its such a great game too... also have you tried reinstalling the game?
  22. i did something stupid again. i had a dual boot of xp and i went to go install vista over one of those installations, but apparently the one i selected was the partition with all the boot info on it.. so now vista works fine but when i try to boot from my other xp partition, it cant find ntldr. im not quite sure how to fix this. i tried copying ntdlr from my xpcd to xp parition but it still cant find it. and i dont want to do all that fixboot stuff on the xpcd b/c last time i did it, xp and vista would give me errors like crazy about my hdd partitions being messed up.
  23. ya i just saw that winamp plugin, and since i use winamp, i think thats the was to go if i get an ipod. what exactly is the point of putting linux on an ipod..? sounds interesting.

  25. well if the tv tuner has an audio out, then try plugging your speakers into this. if this works then you will need to use that short cable to connect the two cards.
