ya. afaik modems will only allow 1 comp hooked up to it. this is unless the modem has a router built into it? what make/model is the router and what connections are coming off the back of it?

well for cpu's i would wait untill intel releases its new xeon http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=3381 suppose to come out in september, these are equivalent to the conroe processors that intel just came out with not too sure on mobo yet how many hdds/hdd space do you want and what type of backup? raid1,raid5raid 0+1 ? for ram i would suggest 4gigs so you tell me if you can wait a couple of months or not for those new cpu's ------------------------------------------ for mySQL you can have that on the same server, when you raid hdds and have plenty of ram then there will be no problem. now for automation there are some programs where the web company can sit down with you and its like the preview of the site where they can type stuff in and add tables or pictures without ever looking at the code. then they can update their site in the future if need be.

whats your interent setup outside of you computer? is it just modem->computer or is it modem->router->computer and did you install the drivers for your lan port?

You can always change the cables, one of the thinks I dislike about those speaker set is the thin 0.75mm2 cables, get thicker ones like 2.5mm". when i eventually get the z5500, im definetly going to get some better speaker wire. any recommendations on a wire thats not too expensive? or is any 2.5mm wire fine? are there special wires with shielding? what gauge would that be, 12? which means that this would be fine? http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...oductId=2420156 edit: well after some research ive found that teh z5500 comes with 18gauge wire and i think that the max that those speakers can take is 16gauge.

and wasnt there a test showing how crappy intel perfoms in 64bit applications? im staying with 64bit as i find it to be much better. -
well this is their current sound card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16829156001 i emailed their support a few weeks ago and they said that it would be released mid-september and the price range will prolly be from 150-200$.

well not changing the divider is the best to do, it makes the cpu and ram run at the same frequency. the only point to use a divider is when you reached ur max cpu overlock, can the ram run that fast? say your cpu is overclocked at 290mhz x 9 = 2.61ghz now there is no way that your ram will run at 290mhz unless you paid an insane amount for it and got really lucky. so this is where you would use a divider to make the ram run slower. you could run a 9/10 divider which means that the ram would run at 261mhz which can be done by most ram.

Mangix- my opera virtual size in that program is 390mb... but in the normal task manager the virtual size it 90mb which seams more reasonable. something's lying to me here.

so are there jumpers or not? the standard windows driver works fine, you shouldnt have to use the nvidia driver. is the drive in the purple or orange sata slot? it should be the purple. the orange doesnt support sataII

well im just talking about what the performance tab in the task manager says. is there a more accurate way?

thanks so much guys http://www.cadsoft.com/gallery_renderings.html wow that detail is impressive autocad 2007's redcommended requirements is a 3ghz cpu, 2gig of ram and 128mb and opengl capable video card. finally s program that can come close to making my computer sweat

how much money do you plan on spending on your server machine?
-
just wondering how much ram usage you guys are getting on xp. this is just b/c ive heard that vista is suppose to use 500mb of ram, i dont know if this is true, let me know if im wrong. but with my programs that are running right now which is almost none, im getting a little under 400mb of ram used.

opterons are meant for servers, therefore they go thru more intents testing to make sure they are good. they tend to overclock a hell of alot. all models of them seem to hit at least 2.6ghz-2.7ghz. but if u want to overclock then i would suggest getting a dfi board. am2 doesnt have much of a performance increase at all but you are future proofed. you have ddr2 and support for am3.

get the z5500!! for sound card since ur not into gaming, then u can get the audio enthusiast's sound card! the auzentech x-purity (or possible renamed x-meridian). you can see the specs here http://www.auzentech.com/images/x-purity/index.htm this card can encode any source into 7.1 thru a single optical cable at up to 192k for each channel. its coming out mid-september so i would wait to purchase it until ur ready to get a set of speakers.
-
thx well you can see in the pic that i have zip ties over zip ties... they're such a pain to get off when they're that tight
-
well my cable managment is showing off. but that was the biggest problem with this case.
-
The main thing I totally would have disagreed on there is the 7800GTX. Also, 4 GBs of RAM? What do you do with your PC? Freakin' in...sane... ya a gtx is pretty pointless when a gt will play all games on full settings. and 4gig of ram is useless unless you really need it. future proofing doesnt make too much sense either unless games start to use more than 1.5 gigs of ram.
-
well let me just apologize if i was rude their too. i googled and came up with this http://www.download.com/Creative-Sound-Bla...0-10198811.html so apparently the audigy 2 zs has a 98se driver, so i guess thats the soundcard for u
-
well its just b/c u were asking about the audigy2 zs which costs 80$ and like i said, u can get an xfi for 80$ just get an older card then with support, i dont know why you were asking then.
-
nice case there, i plan on getting that for my friend for the psu get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817341001 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817194003 for mobo get a 975x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131025 ur just gonna f***ing love that cpu! heatsink and ram are very good what speakers do u plan on having? and how much do u game/listen to music? is there a reason ur not getting a 7900gt or x1900? all else looks fine except the dvd drive. are you getting that just for the litescribe? if you want it for litescribe then i guess ur fine b/c theres not much of a choice, but there is a lite-on with litescribe available. edit: you could get and e6600 and use that money for a good video card, unless you dont game much then i completely understand. and if u dont game much, then i dont see the point of an x-fi.

thats going to sound great with the auzentech surround sound from any source thru toslink
-
lucky bastard! what speakers do u have?
