I just install mIRC by the $progs/$docs way, so mIRC gets coppied over immediately, and following that in a batch file I have invision installing silently with /S and it works great.

Perhaps because everyone doesnt live in their parents basements with allowances all their life? Plus DVD's are nowhere near as universal as USB currently is, so I can definetly see how this would be an advantage. If anyone else knows how I would be pleased to know myself.

You are most definetly correct. You should not have to disable WFP if you placed it on the CD.

That doesn't madder. I am quite familiar with AutoIt and could very easily make one myself. The problem is, it pops up with an IE window of a readme of some sort. The above command is often used in batch files, but I am wondering if it will be compatable with JavaScript.

Example, I am installing 3DMark05 in My WPI, and for Installshield of course, you must specify the setup.iss file. This should be a straightforward question, so if this correct, plese let me know, or simply correct it. Probably because you didnt catch the part that says to rename it to Winnt.sif ><

Regardless of what you may think, this error message is SIMPLE. VERY VERY Simple. Its saying there isnt that file at that directory. So it can only be one of two things: 1) Your Winnt.sif doesnt have OEMPreinstall=yes (A common error for nubbies like yourself). Which means the $OEM$\$1\Office2003 Folder would not be coppied over in the first place. 2) Simple mistake, and you didnt put it in the right directory, didnt spell the setup file right...or something of that sort. Those are the ONLY two things it can be. Both easy to check. Make sure your directorys are EXACT....copy and paste if needed. Also, for your batch file, I suggest you add @echo off to the top to make it look nicer. Good-Luck

You need to become more experienced with basic Windows manuevers. For example, you aren't understanding how batch files work. Exact proof that you didnt read the link I gave you, but in addition, its SIMPLE, start simply means execute, but you must tell it what to execute. You aren't even understanding this part which is VERY VERY basic. Im sorry, but this is stuff you learn over time and then you realize its common sense. What we are trying to tell you is that you must run a batch file and the batch file must point to every file in which you want to execute. Like I said, good luck...no ones giving you a pirated copy of unattended windows....atleast not in this forum. There is no program that simply makes one for you. Theres no choice. Its immpossible to move forward without reading. Your looking for something where you just put some clicks and things work out. Its much more sophisticated right now, and is at this time NOT possible. Like I said, its incredibly obvious your still in the early stages of school....Keep going, why do you find reading difficult? I mean not to be rude, but its DEAD obvious that you NEVER read the guide in the first place. Were telling you, this website is the easiest you can get. But you say you do read it. I find that hard to believe...so we ask you to copy / paste something that you read that doesnt make sense, but apparently reading is too much trouble for you. Also, I suggest you look up the definition of "Hacking". Copying downloaded modified files is way on the other side. Like I said, just do what it says and go along with it. If you get to a certain point where you dont understand it, copy and paste that part of the guide and which case I would be glad to help you. All it is a little reading man.

Im not here to flame or anything. But you would have to be mentally challenged to not be able to do whats on the main guide. I really honestly mean no offense to you what-so-ever. But with PLENTY of pictures, VERY accurate information, it is absolutly immpossible to not undertand it if you HONESTLY read it. So heres what you need to do. You need to start reading. We all went through this. The guide is setup JUST FOR YOU. Its so simple especially with the pictures. Good luck However, Cartoonite is correct, this requires quite an ammount of experience with Windows. I think your name goes along with immaturity so it is possible your just not ready.

First and foremost. Please enable extensions of your files if not done already. Simply go to My computer ->Tools ->Folder Options->Tab "View"->Uncheck Hide Extensions for know file types.->Apply->OK. This is to make sure your files arent named regtweaks.reg.txt (Because the extension .txt would take it over, thus it woudnt be a .reg file). The same thing applies to your winnt.sif, make sure its not named winnt.sif.txt (Which it seems to be named from the file you uploaded.)

I woudn't know the answer, however, a temporary solution would be to use a variable and just have someone put the letter in to equal that variable. (assuming you know what your drive letter is)

Exactly as the title states. I am looking for a way to apply a new Shell theme. There are many apps that do this, and I honestly dont care as long as it gets done unattended. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello, I am a bit confused as to what I should do. Currently I have over 60 programs installing under 1 batch file. My question is, will I be able to install all of these with XPlode? I have all kinds of installations from simple copying / moving / deleting of files....to AutoIT's to simple install switchs (which I already know XPlode can do). Will XPlode be able to do all of these? and if so, how?

Wow ummm dont know what else to say. Like myself and Alanoll said, you must change it, its not an option, and it shouldnt be restricted. If it says you cant change it because its in use or something, make sure its closed first or restart your computer.

This may be your problem: Go to My Computer -> Click Tools At the top -> Folder Options -> Tab "View" -> Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" -> Apply, Ok This is to make sure your file is simply not named winnt.sif.txt (because the .txt would take over the sif extension thus your problem would occur. But this is definetly not the problem if the rest is unattended. In which case, is hard to tell because OEMPreinstall is set to Yes.

I woudnt really say that..... Believe me, 512 Ram on Windows XP which hogs way too much RAM in that itself....I woudnt be so confident with some crappy samsung RAM running On XP. EDIT: On a different note, you are somewhat showing yourself the advantages of formatting often (I do it every 1-5 months depending on stability). You PROVE the effectivness of it in your previous post when you said at one point you could alt-tab and do something else. Formatting just fixes stuff. Its not even much you can explain, crap just builds up, its from Mircrosoft, and a nice fresh Format fixes those problems, and increases stability. Its not a pain to do, people like you make it SEEM that way..... Funny....Im about to restart my computer to format my own....See you in ~1 Hour later....

I always thought the batch files were run before explorer was first loaded, thus this problem doesnt occur.
