I'm talking about Internet Explorer, not Windows Explorer. My nav buttons in IE are different than yours. What do yours look like? Cuz The only way i've gotten to have the border around the buttons is because Microsoft mapped Windows Explorer's Navigation bar to the same location as IE 10 / 11 My mistake, you just added a background behind buttons in msstyle, I thought you modified ieframe.dll.

Did you modified the nav buttons of internet explorer? I tried to modify ieframe.dll before and IE stopped working.

This works exactly the same in Windows 7, there is no separate property to where glow can be added without effecting the other. I know but he can't do anything about it? SiB should have its own skin settings since it's a separate program.

adding glow behind text in jumplist will also add glow in the second column of start menu, can you do something about it?

Edit shellstyle.dll (%windir%\Resources\Themes\YourTheme\Shell\NormalColor) using ResHacker or Restorator If you are using Restorator go to UIFILE -> 1 (for ResHacker is UIFILE -> 1 -> 1033), press Ctrl+F and search for <style resid="FolderBandStyle"> Add <Element padding="rect(0rp,0rp,0rp,-31rp)"/> under <style resid="FolderBandStyle"> This is how it should look <style resid="FolderBandStyle"> <Element padding="rect(0rp,0rp,0rp,-31rp)"/> <Element

Broke? I just changed the navigation buttons(bmp resources) inside dll using reshacker/restorator. In windows 7 was so easy to modify the system files... take ownership -> edit -> replace. Something is different in Win8/8.1.

I tried to change the bmp resources using restorator/reshacker and Internet Explorer won't open anymore, restoring back the original dll will fix it. Any idea how to modify this dll without breaking IE? I want to change the navigation buttons. Thank you.

It's either skin issue or Aero Glass issue, since i don't see it on standard buttons without Aero Glass. No, it's not the skin, neither AeroGlass. It does the same with default theme... Anyway, to fix it sign out after changing DPI. Thank you for this great app!
