And if I choose "rounded corners" theme, there are some artifacts on the corners. You forgot to do this. With this W8 won't fill up the corners with color. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM:RoundRectRadius (DWORD, Win8 = 0, Win7 = 12)

Maybe, everyone will then realize that this is preview only.A debugging window at least gives information that can be used to find problems. A static message doesn't serve that purpose. It just says one piece of information that people should already know anyway. If you're not even planning on getting money for this, I just don't get why you'd want to have artificial limitations like this given that you don't even gain anything from putting them there. It makes sense to have a limited trial for paid software so people can see how the program functions and decide if they want to buy it. Maybe you should charge for it if you don't think people deserve to get it for free. And so what if some people are incapable of reading that this is a test version? You can't fix stupid. Just let stupid people break their systems (they'll probably find a way to break it even if it's not by using your program). Because bugs are to be expected, and is the reason why there are test versions. Anyone that doesn't understand that deserves to break their system. That's punishment enough, really. To answer your question He thinks it's funny to annoy the users. I guess I have different taste in humor. I don't find viruses infecting someone funny either.

About the messagebox visibility. It only shows up on startup for a split second and then I don't see it anymore so great job! And now with the symbols thingy it'll last much more

Do you you have RC4? It should automatically download the symbols when MS changes something.

Why did you respond only to these? Do you agree with the rest or what? I actually reported some things in your thread if you search through my posts and guess what? I didn't need the messagebox telling me that. Oh and about the watermark. Thats the first thing I did when I installed 7 Beta

Good to see there's still way to have W7 start menu in 8.1 so if I'll be forced to upgrade I can use this. Good job!

1) I like to have things in my taskbar I actually use and it was way too easy to accidentaly click on it. 2) What version had startup-only? I'm using this since 0.1 and none of them were startup-only. 3) Whether you intended it to be used for testing or daily use is irrelevant. It's my fault if I screw up my W8 install not yours. Since 0.7 it was good enough to leave all day with only minor slowdown. 3a) You can't group people like that. Obviously plenty of them will be impatient like me, but you have to deal with that. If this is your first project I can understand the frustration, but you should take a look at some moddb's mod profiles and you'll see the exact same thing. You can't let some people discourage you otherwise you'll never release anything 4) It's not free. More like shareware if you know the term and I really hate shareware. Trial is much better for actually trying something. 5) I realized that months ago, because most of the updates weren't fixes, but rather new experiments unless you don't list everything in your changelog. Abuse it? Nah they want to use feature that was supposed to be in W8 in the first place if M$ wasn't bunch of dumbasses and don't want to wait if functional way is available which is why so many people grapsed at straws to get transparency working through that theme glitch. Umm there wasn't startup only in the first version? It was that cmd window wasting taskbar space and then messagebox. I don't know how you calculate it, but it was every hour for me and minimised fullscreen games.

You are wrong. If it was on startup only or once a year as you say noone would care, every hour is unacceptable. Not to mention it steals all the focus.

It's an undocumented winapi, you gotta check the memory and see if the hook still fits and modify the trampoline http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/32736 I looked over the code and it seems to be more complicated than I thought. I don't know much about assembly so this'll be hard.

Yeah, it's almost ready, just need to create installer etc. I did some last changes (mostly fixed bugs reported here and finished symbols downloading to be WinUpdates-proof) and do not intend to modify it more, I'm just not sure whether to risk it and release it directly as it is now or give one more RC to test. Depends. Are there any serious bugs? Like really serious bugs(black screens etc.) Is that Save theme dialog gone? Then I'd say yes. Any other minor bugs aren't important for now and can be always fixed later. I don't remember any game/software that stayed at 1.0 and was perfect.
