Didn't you *just* reinstall it? Do you have Ad-Aware? Anvitivirus program? You probably have a virus of some sort. Generally (not always), XP will specify if it's a hardware issue with a nice BSoD.

Do you have a CD burner? You should be able to "image" the drive, and or save large amounts of data to CD's. It'll be much quicker.

OMG! REINSTALL REINSTALL! QUICK BEFORE IT SPREADS! Seriously though, I have no idea. That has to be the oddest thing I've ever seen from any Windows machine. Close second is transferring data from one hard drive to another and it said it would take 439827 days (Yes, that really did happen LOL). I'll see if I can find out some info on it for ya Edit: Hmmm...I just did a search on google, including the groups...and the only references I can find are errors that refer specifically to exe files. For instance, "Windows cannot find 'C:\Windows\system32\sol.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." None related to the actual folder. Although, so far...it's been related to a worm virus. I suggest you run an antivirus if you have one to check, if you don't have one you can always use AVG for free.

Have you registered( ) the software? It may be that it's part of the "trial".

One of my other fav's is asking them to unplug the power to their modem to "recycle" it and they're like "Ok just give me one minute. The plug is right here under the de-........" line goes dead. I just laugh. "Sucker" mwahahahahahahahahahaahahaha*cough* I don't understand why they think they need to unplug the power bar where EVERYTHING is plugged into, including their cordless phone. *snicker*

I'm not quite clear as to what it is you're having trouble with, but it's my understanding from using it, you can reset back to normal icons from one of the menu's at the top. To apply new icons, you have to select the set you want and hit apply.

Excluding the fact I don't see what the point in sending someone you don't have on your contact list a message, I thought that just sent them an e-mail. *shrug*

BTW, if you're using MSN software to read/compose e-mail, and not Internet Explorer/Outlook Express, which is what it sounds like, you may want to re-install MSN or contact MSN to have them help you through fixing that issue.
