  1. Oh perfect! Do you know of a tutorial to set it up with apache? Or should I just fiddle around with it?
  2. Do you know if you absolutely have to use IIS? It says so...but I just want to make sure lol.
  3. Hey guys, I've recently seen quite a few websites with "Remote Desktop". In fact, gamehead200 I think your was one of them. Either way, I'd like to implement this on my site. I'm also behind a firewall at home so any information on how to set this up would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I've installed VMWare on a k6-2 475mhz machine with 256MB ram running Windows 2000. It *should* be possible. Are you getting any specific error messages? Have you looked at the system requirements for either of those softwares? http://www.vmware.com/support/kb/enduser/s...php?p_faqid=967 Again, it worked for me....not sure which k6-2 it's looking for though.
  5. Maybe so, but as he pointed out "this will NOT share desktop settings" which is what this person is asking for the begin with
  6. Are you using Windows XP? Are all your friends? Also, some of these features are only available with MSN 8.0 software. Like "Browse together"
  7. Technically speaking, it is possible. You would need an extra piece of software though. Most likely one you'd have to write, or ask someone to write. Probably very simple. It would run on all the machines, and go out on to the network and match the content of one computer's "Document and Settings" folder with the rest. Wow...it sounds simplier then I thought. To bad I can't code
  8. That's really weird. I've installed MSN Plus numerous times and never experienced any spyware on my machine from it. Hmm....
  9. You should be running Ad-Aware and or Spybot Search & Destory for spyware. You should never try to remove it by yourself as you may damage crucial parts of that particular software/or the OS. As for the new windows opening small, I've had that happen several times. You just have to keep resizing them (Do not maximize them from this point) and close out completely. You may have to do this several times before it works. It was the only thing *I* found that worked.
  10. The best Operating System ever released by Microsoft to date is Windows 2000 (In my opinion). Windows 98 was a good OS, but Windows 2000 surpassed it. Windows ME was a joke. It was pretty much like using a new version of Windows 95a. LOL That's just my opinon.
  11. I think maybe I may have mis-communicated. Having Windows Messenger installed WITH MSN 6.0 helps with many of the issues. So if you're using Windows XP, do not remove Windows Messenger if you're going to install MSN 6.0.
  12. Just wanted to let you guys know that if you're running Windows XP, you will find that having Windows Messenger installed will "heal" a lot of the issues with MSN Messenger 6.0. I had removed it (Before installing MSN 6) and when I installed MSN 6 I found several issues with it. It didn't run properly either. I decided to re-install Windows Messenger, and almost all of my issues have gone away. Just thought I'd let you guys know
  13. Sympatico has capped their service. They've had the caps since June 02. They offer an insanely low amount of bandwidth. When I left it was set at 5 gigs up AND down. Not sure what it's set to now. If you're hosting the MSN 6.0 file and or patch on your connection, it's safe to assume your connection was lowered for that reason. Unless your friends dad is someone of importance within the company, I think it's safe to bet he didn't have anything to do with it. Sympatico is a large company part of a huge corporation. Someone's dad (Again, unless someone of importance), isn't going to be able to say "Yo...change this kids connection speed!). The only thing I would suggest is to call them on the phone and find out what's going on. Have you tried recycling the modem?
  14. I did that. It's still not working. Is there anyone I need to do in the configuration file?
  15. Also, it doesn't patch for the games. At least not since MSN installs as "ca" for Canada. I had to go in and manually change it to "us". So it's not an "all-in-one"
  16. Still no workie I even used your install. Is there a configuration file I need to edit or something?
  17. Could you please elaborate a little more on the contact list background, because I can't get it to work.
  18. Hey guys! Ok so....I'm sitting here at work, browsing the forums on another site...and I come across "MSN 6.0!" So naturally, I decided to look into it a bit further...I've read quite a few of the posts here but I'd like some plain old suggestions/reviews here. I plan to go home in an hour and install this thing. Do any of you have any suggestions at all to make that as smooth as possible? I'm running Windows XP Professional. I currently have both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger 5.0, will these interfere? I also have MSN Plus 2! installed. Is it worth the download? Has anyone noticed if any information is passed on to Microsoft? I don't necessarily have anything to be afraid of, but I definitely do not enjoy any of my personal information being viewed by anyone other then myself, and let's just say Microsoft doesn't have a great track record for stuff like that especially with all the holes in their software generally. Either way, any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Have a good evening
