  1. StartIsBack settings - Switching - check off 'Enable top screen edge (snap)'
  2. Yeah i know you pushed the pixels to make the arrow blend in. Wouldn't it be better to make skinnable arrow? I'll try to find a part we can use.
  3. You can disable file searching this way: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "Start_SearchFiles"=dword:00000000 I'll try to return this feature into next version or +1.1.
  4. Okay, different heights for logoff and search boxes - done! To the extent of good enough. It's matter of compatibility, not the time / money. Making existing skins look right is compatibility so next version should fix this.
  5. I don't confirm this. Are you using non-standard skin or other theming / shell enhancement programs? But I thought you will remake those themes with the search box? Wasn't it removed to get rid of glass?
  6. It won't be changed. Why is that critical? Well, it's obviously a bug and will be fixed, although you're not really supposed to use full skin with alternate skin. Aha. It opens Start screen on the last used monitor. Middle-click on Start button or pressing Ctrl-Win or invoking Start screen via charms will open it on the intended monitor, but i'll try to make shortcut open it on the active monitor too. You can also set 'Enable all corners on secondary monitors'. Then start button on non-primary monitor will open Start screen only.
  7. +1.0 RC3 http://startisback.com/StartIsBackPlus_setupRC.exe
  8. Boo! Now how can we fix that problem? Can you recall the list of apps you had 8.1 which can modify shell? Extensions, tweakers, replacements, skinning, etc?
  9. You can add Quick Launch to taskbar, then drop Metro apps shortcuts from Start Apps:
  10. kong, I can confirm this. PandaX, you're not running StartIsBack+.
  11. Better don't touch anything and wait for the fixed release, if you experienced start button (Win key) not working issue on RTM. As is RC2 should work on RTM with no issues.
  12. Version 2.1.2 - New translations - Fixed lot of minor configurator issues (incorrect shutdown option list, 'shared corners' not working on x64, rare crash) - Startscreen.exe /pintostartmenu filepath to pin filepath to start menu. Also you may check out slightly updated group policy. Hope I didn't screw anything.
  13. You may want to enable micropayment fee for your account.
  14. It's enough for me. Some third-party software is blocking taskbar communication. Is start button disjointed (not moving) if you move the taskbar?
  15. +1.0 RC2 This is the last RC planned. PandaX, can you please do debug log for your issue?
  16. That's good because now I'll be able to debug it. Download DebugView and run it for some time while the issue happens, then attach log here. Thx!
  17. +1.0 RC1 This build contains additional debugging info to help fix Windows key not working issue. Also, I have some 8.1 File Explorer fixes/legacies at hand / in mind, but not still not sure if they apply to SIB.
  18. Such issue wasn't reported. I would consider some common software like antivirus wrecking things; do graphical glitches start to occur in other places of desktop / explorer? Try to go to program configuration and press OK to reload start menu in such situation.
  19. Is it applicable to windows 8.1 preview with SIB + RC0? This does not really work since Windows 7. It makes EXEs listed unpinnable, but start menu operates on shortcuts and their AppIDs. I can't reproduce your issue yet. PandaX, neither I did reproduce your issue, but i'll have some blind fix for it.
  20. StartIsBack can make All Programs expandable. You can add custom folders into right side of menu with StartIsBack+ on Windows 8.1.
  21. I did on 9471. Do you have Windows long-press configured? Try setting it to "Do nothing" if so, it could fix this.
  22. albza97, your issue has been resolved. Download updated RC0. Or remove malformed (default) value from Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer registry key.
  23. Can you reproduce this step-by-step? Are there any duplicate shortcuts for those items, like both on desktop and start menu? Do you have a policy to clear recently used programs on exit?
