  1. Enable the group policy I mentioned and you will see that the transparency slider will work and it will store as 0xAA
  2. I made a simple installer if anyone is having problems making it work https://www.mediafire.com/?nzu3152dcbo1yt3 Also includes Aeroglass GUI with desktop shortcut and a desktop context menu shortcut.
  3. I don't see how this could be a change/bug in RS1 considering the previous 1.4.5 build colors the windows fine and exactly the way it was on TH2, the only problem I was able to observe on the older build on RS1 was it's inability to use the new symbols and artefacts when blur was enabled. As for the slider registry values, I was able to correct this problem by adding a couple of registry entries. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization] "PersonalColors_Background"="#000000" "PersonalColors_Accent"="#" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization] "PersonalColors_Background"="#000000" "PersonalColors_Accent"="#" This was an old group policy that you can still change but it is no longer fully supported and the accent color setting doesn't change to the value you set, it does however change the color of the tiles to whatever color you chose in settings and then allows you to go to the old personalization color and use the slider and colors to change the border color and transparency. Now if I am able to do this with the old build then surely it's possible to do it in the new build, to me the old build seems way less broken then this new build, also maybe you can find out exactly why this triggers the slider registry values to be respected by enabling this group policy and add it to aeroglass, or maybe your just not up to the task any more or have lost interest in supporting this project and have decided to take the "it's good enough" approach.
  4. OK another thing I am seeing is really messed up windows border colors, I can set border colors perfectly without aeroglass and with 1.4.5 but this new build is just messed up, also a trick I used to get the transparency slider working also effects the border colors on this build. No Glass Old 1.4.5 with Transparency slider New build default New build with Transparency slider As you can see the borders are not being colored correctly at all on the new build.
  5. Seems to be a problem if you have blur set to 0, if it's 1 or higher it's fine but if set to 0 there is a lot of artefacts, this is only seen when using dark themes and black glass enhanced to make the windows transparent.
  6. You will still get the error message on every boot and the glass effect will not be visible unless you hit cancel.
  7. Open the AeroGlass GUI and uncheck the the theme atlas image, old theme atlas files will not work, you will need one that is made for RS1
  8. Yes, 1607 Build 14393.10 is RS1 (Redstone One) aka Windows 10 Anniversary Update
  9. Currently if you are using AeroGlass on RS1 you will get artefacts, the solution to this is to use the AeroGlass GUI and disable the blur, also change Caption glow effect mode to either no glow effect or use theme setting to fix the caption text.
  10. This is what I did pretty much, instead though I just made a new folder in the aeroglass folder and put that file in there, at least doing it that way you can keep using your donate key and remove the desktop watermark. One of the most important things to remember when using AeroGlass if you are having display driver crashes is to hold the Ctrl button and it will stop loading AeroGlass and then you can rename or move the symsrv.dll or disable Aero Glass.

Exactly and that's why I think we need to have CiB that is not just about bringing back the start menu, the start menu could definitely be an optional feature as all new features probably should be, the idea is to not be forced to have windows look or function in any particular way but to bring back personalised customization choices much like the new kickstarter Customatic by MeowPurr http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1304456-customatic-themes-launchers-desktop-live-tiles-for-windows-10/ As you can see this exactly the type of project I am proposing, but rather then take the approach of reinventing the wheel and making themes proprietary that no longer use the msstyles and forcing people to use Customatic, continue to use the msstyles as people can still use the themes if they wish without all the added features, this will ensure that themers will continue to create great themes that people can use for free if they wish and at the same time add the extra features they want that can be accessed for small cost using CiB. Those who wish to continue using ONE for free can do so but I think many people would be happy to pay a small premium to have better customization on Windows 10 and if you don't believe me then look at Customatic, they already raised nearly $3000 in 3 days for the kickstarter.

Can you give an example of something you found to be a PITA?

I also like the new start menu and use it on a daily basis but I still prefer to use it only for modern apps, that is besides the point though, SiB has many more features then the start menu and Tihiy has already made it optional to have the default start menu open instead and have the SiB start menu open with Ctrl+Win so there is absolutely no reason not to use SiB with custom themes that support taskbar customization and it only makes sense that ONE is combined with SiB as no one likes to install multiple programs unnecessarily and taking up extra resources.

Hey Tihiy, it's about time we had some new customization added don't you think? Would love to see some of these added that I mentioned before. I know that all this customization was not the plan for SiB and it probably isn't going to bring anything to those who do not care for these features, but I believe there are still many people who do want to have their OS fully customizable and I believe that you are the man for the job, I propose to you that instead of adding more and more features to SiB that you instead combine the features of ONE and SiB as well as other new features, for example simple color, transparency and blur to explorer like you have with the Taskbar and Start menu, I think a good name for this project would be CiB Customization Is Back, would love to hear back from you about this proposal and maybe I could make poll on my site to give you an idea of the potential for this project.
  15. Thanks for the update, I have a new feature request that relates to Windows 10, in explorer the "new" Quick Access formerly Favourites has those grey pin icons on the right side, they don't seem to serve any purpose other then looking ugly and taking up unnecessary space, is there a possibility of removing that at all or maybe a way to return to the old favourites menu instead?
  16. Thanks mate, looks like it is working properly now
  17. Why have you made a new thread and asking exactly the same thing, you have already been given the solution in your previous thread directly under this one.
  18. Very easy to do this, has been the same since Windows Vista and maybe earlier, that's just how long I have used it. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "AutoAdminLogon"="1" "DefaultUsername"="your username@live.com" "DefaultPassword"="your password" "ForceAutoLogon"="1" Change the username and password to your local or MS account and never have to worry about logging in again, to stop auto login just change both "1" to a "0" Your welcome

In the search menu I noticed a change with text color, it used to be Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ItemsView > Details > Selected but now it seems to use the text color in Fonts, Colors, & System Metrics > Colors (Globals) if there is one there, removing the text color from there reverts it to the default location again, is there any way you can make it ignore the global text color?
  20. That about sums it up, agree with all of that, Windows 8.1 is just the way I like it now, it's a hybrid of Windows 7 and 8 and the customization is better then 7 in some ways, I will never upgrade to 10 unless there is a feature I could not live without.
  21. Latest build has broken all my custom context menus, they now result in a black screen and explorer restarts, I did manage to get some of them working again like this one for example. [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\Theme Settings] "ControlPanelName"="Microsoft.Personalization" "Position"="bottom" "Icon"=hex(2):25,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,72,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,\ 00,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,74,00,\ 68,00,65,00,6d,00,65,00,63,00,70,00,6c,00,2e,00,64,00,6c,00,6c,00,2c,00,2d,\ 00,31,00,00,00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\Theme Settings\command] "DelegateExecute"="{06622D85-6856-4460-8DE1-A81921B41C4B}" Any shortcut that doesn't use DelegateExecute results in explorer restarting.
  22. I would agree if I used glass8 for blur but I always have it set to 0 anyway and now I have no watermark or nagging popups to get a licence so for me it's perfect.
  23. Symbols are downloading and working on the latest RS1 build 14352 but only with blur radius set to 0, any attempt to add blur will result in a flashing black screen when trying to move a window.

Thanks for the self repair, that always bugged me, less so if your not an insider I guess though.

I noticed the clock properties have changed in the latest builds, it used to be in Taskbar & System Tray > System Tray > Basic > Clock but now it's the same as the taskitem text, Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TextColor. The only real downside is that now the grey hover background is hard coded instead of an image, is there any chance you could revert it back to Taskbar & System Tray > System Tray > Basic > Clock and make it customizable again and also please add back support for the tray background image in Taskbar & System Tray > System Tray > Basic > Horizontal > TrayNotify > Background. Would still also love to see the Task Item buttons customizable again as well in Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TaskItemButton.
