  1. awesome work mate, do you think you could add the option for rounded corners as well?
  2. Worked perfectly on my x64 VM, didn't have to change any settings from the last version, just edited the reg file and logged out and then logged in and working 100%, no noticeable lag, no random crashing when opening start menu (with SIB) as I was getting in all previous versions, only thing I have noticed so far is if you restart explorer (using a right click context shortcut) the whole screen is blurred for a second, I was just wondering though if you plan on making blur and rounded corners optional in your final release, I love that you have found a way to bring back all these features but personally I prefer no blur at all and have it disabled in Windows 7 on explorer windows anyway. Also one other question, with that registry setting for rounded corners, is there any way to reverse that effect and make corners square in Windows 7? Here's a preview of mine with a Windows 7 theme I imported, made changes to the fram to make it square but I guess I can have rounded again now as well thanks to you
  3. Yeah, text glow effect is just a part of aero theme resource. The problem is when I simply copy the glow glyph from RP to RTM (and enable new image in my utility), the glow appears but it seems that it ignores its alpha channel. Although image contains alpha channel and shaders and blend states are same as in RP. Will be more work than I thought I managed to import the Windows 7 theme and also messed with some of the images to bring back a glow effect on the caption buttons, the default Windows 7 theme is so ugly though lol
  4. Working great for me and seems better with direct 3D, not sure what everyone else is complaining about but it worked for me right off the bat, using VM Ware, not sure if that makes any difference or not.
  5. Kind of. You still need to patch your system since this is considered a customized theme. I recommend either UxTheme (http://www.softpedia...tiPatcher.shtml), or UxStyle (http://uxstyle.com/b...mental_bits.zip). Actually, you don't even need to patch your system. The actual theme file used in the release preview is in the same file format as the current build. Since the theme for Release Preview was digitally signed by Microsoft, that means you can use the real .msstyles file from Windows 8 Release Preview in Windows 8 RTM without patching of any kind. Note, this only works in the release preview. Can we keep this thread on topic please, you can make a new thread for your theme issues.
