  4. Well If "some Windows updates " break or conflict with UxStyle, would be nice to know Which Updates are the problem and then avoid them.. Reminds me years ago when I updated all my XP files , folders and icons to give them a Vista/Win7 look then after some MS updates came out and Service pack, everything was downgraded back to the org xp style..bummer
  5. I may have posted that over at MDL but your right the defrag is really not needed a optimizer would be better, especially for the ssd drives now, here is a screen shot of the Window Apps I use also ..upload failed geesh .. click on my flickr below to view.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/93612079@N03/
  6. No Problem, Fixing to head out of town for a few days, but when I get back I will pm them over to you or post here whatever works..
  7. Jinkazama, This is a .vbs script that I use when doing silent install, I set the path normally to the Taskbar (Don't like my desktop cluttered with shortcuts) but I adjusted this to the desktop for you... I run it from my FinalRun.cmd batch file with the following command: cscript //nologo "%~dp0AddShortcuts.vbs" or you can try "%~dp0AddShortcuts.vbs" DosProbie.. 8. Thanks for the 2.0 Update..Working Good ! Been manually adding a shortcut to Disk Cleanup to System Tools , how hard would it be to add this in next version?
  9. I know this may be a little off topic but for those of us using Google Chrome and want a aero glass you can install the MaxDark Aero Theme at : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/maxdark-theme-aero/mapjapllioihmnbmmbflnndnmambmbpl Then launch Aero Glass , see my screen shot below http://www.flickr.com/photos/93612079@N03/
  10. Try to change the DeviceFeatureLevel registry key to 9100 (DirectX 9.1) You can do this either with regedit or with the GUI (link in my signature) I was having similar issue til I added the .reg file before install.. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;DWM AERO SETTINGS - Sets Device Feature Level to DirectX 9.3 [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM] "BlurDeviation"=dword:00000014 "Composition"=dword:00000001 "DeviceFeatureLevel"=dword:00009300 "DisableDebugLog"=dword:00000000 "GlassTransparency"=dword:0000006a "IsOnStartup"=dword:00000001 "UseDirect2DRendering"=dword:00000001
  11. Well maybe if we talk nice to tihiy he could add a firewall exception to sib under the advanced section, or just add to his installer.. With something like this firewall rule below..DosProbie ö¿ö Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;ADD STARTISBACK TO THE FIREWALL APPS LIST..REBOOT 4 CHANGES.. 12. Great! Sounds like a plan..BTW If you need me to update the version number on my installer let me know and I will send it over to you..
  13. Do you think you could add Disk Cleanup back to the System Tools like Win7?
  14. With all these updates I think it would help everyone if you could add your updated versions to the console. When I launch DWMLoader.exe it reads Win8 v0.3 not v0.4 and then to dwm.exe to - THIS IS PREVIEW VERSION ONLY!!! v.04 Thanks,
  15. Nice update ORelio!! Hey, could you add a Changelog section to your Readme file for each version if not to much trouble?
  16. Thanks Tihiy, I just tried that and it copies shortcut just fine to desktop, how would I pin to Taskbar tho?
  17. Q: How many times can I reinstall / reactivate StartIsBack? A: There is no limitation on how many times you can activate an installation on same PC. You can backup activation data from registry [sOFTWARE\StartIsBack\License] and restore it freely. Great!! Thanks for the quick reply.. I think I saw a post on here somewhere that you can add a commandline to have it pre-activated.. Was I dreaming are do you have that option?
  18. yep the new aero didnt wk for me either , so went back to old, Maybe the next AGTwk could have a option for custom setting either 9100, 9200 or 9300 ...just a thought
  19. Morning Tihiy! Activation question, I do a lot of re-installs of Win8 on the same machine for testing purposes etc, So my Question is: Do you have a Activation Limit (on the Same machine) ? I used another product Start something or nother lol.. I know my bad.. and they said I had Reached my Activitation Limit.. So Before I commit to SIB I need to know, do you also have any kind of provision of backing up the activation so I wont have to re-activate each time (such as a .bin file or whatever)? Thanks for the Help and a Great Product!.. DosProbie
  20. I Feel your pain...What app are you using to get your boot-time in pic? also how is the speed on loading your ie browser or other browser webpages vs Win7?
  21. I have most of the metro shortcut's but I Can Not find the following 5 App shortcut names below. this is the shortcut format that I use: %windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start "" "AppName:" && exit bingcalender – Calendar (the wlcalendar will not work) bingcamera – Camera bingphotos - Photos bingreader - Reader bingskydrive - Skydrive If anyone has the shortcuts to post,pm or paths I would appreciate it.. Thanks, DosProbie
  22. /elevated /silent Ok, Thanks Tihiy! Just did a Win8 re-install with a silent install of StartIsBack and worked Perfectly! - So /silent for user install = "Install for me" - and /elevated /silent for machine install = "Install for everyone" Life is good..
  23. Well I learned a long time ago, sometimes it just a heck of a lot easier and faster to just cut your loses and do a reinstall and be done with it, instead of spending hours and hours trying to p*** in the dark..
