  1. After more updated aero glass testing I got another update error, just manually downloaded and did additional 48 updates and installed one at a time with my custom theme active and aero glass running, all went well til I got to my last update "Windows 8-RT-KB2855336-x64.msu" which after installing and rebooting back to desktop turned off my aero glass and gave me this DWM incompatiable error message..DP
  2. Says from Dell site that it has USB 3.0 and backlit keyboard etc. ==> http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/latitude-e6530/pd
  3. Is this a Desktop or Lap? and if so what model?
  4. A graphics issue was my first thought but I am using a Intel HD 3000 and up til now never had a issue until I enabled updates.. Let me ask you guys this. .1.) Are you using a custom patched theme with aero glass enable when doing your updates? or 2.) Do you use the default Windows Aero theme with aero glass enable when doing the Updates?
  5. Hmmm...interesting, same as Noel i installed it with AeroGlass enabled with no problem on my main machine. Did tests on two VMs with AeroGlass enabled and installed only KB2846071 on both, they restarted with no problems. I did mine live on fresh reinstall, no VM.. just wonder if anyone else has had same issue as of yet..DP
  6. Noel, Like i said in my post.. 2) If you Install this update with Aero disabled = No Flashing Black screen So you must have had Aero glass disabled to get the update to install..DP
  7. It get worse, here is a new one for me after doing some more testing with Windows updates on boot-up to desktop..
  8. I was going to donate last week but he has it set in Eur and not USD..
  9. Been testing Updates for almost 3 hrs now and here is what i have found so far.. 1) Installing KB2846071-x64.msu with Aero Glass enabled = "Flashing Black Screen"! 2} If you Install this update with Aero disabled = No Flashing Black screen. Lucky for me I set a system restore point this time and after black screen just booted into advance repair options and did system restore..Still have more updates to check but so far the Security update KB2846071 is definitely having a issue with Aero Glass! DP
  10. Ok, I have Never had the dreaded "Black Screen" issue with Aero Glass and I must admit I have been a skeptic of WU causing issues with Aero Glass like others have experienced, but I also have always had my updates disabled, so today I decided to run some tests, I enabled my updates and then Windows downloaded 32+ updates and then prompted me to reboot so it could install the new updates, when all updates were installed and Windows was attempting to reboot back to the desktop, Guess what I got the flashing "black screen" that would not allow me to get back to my desktop..Hmmmm what the heck is going on, So the only way out of this lock down was to do a Win8 reinstall, I am now thinking maybe there is something going on with Aero and WU, so I am doing some update tests and will report back when I get to the bottom of this..DP
  11. So if you have network connection issues or blocking of public symbols from a over aggressive firewall\virus app then you will have DWM AeroGlass problem?
  12. We Keep reading on here how "One" of the Wds undates is causing problems with AeroGlass but has anyone as of yet identified which .msu is the culpirt so maybe we could put it on the blacklist? DP
  13. You can see more about secure boot blocking unsigned drivers at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/jj737995.aspx
  14. One issue I see when Aero Glass goes lives is the AppInit_DLLs infrastructure is disabled when secure boot is enabled and your non tech end users are not either going to know how to disable secure boot or just dont pay attention to the install notes on this...BigMuscle did say he would "get rid of AppInit_DLLs completely" if you look at his quote on Post #283 http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/162036-aero-glass-tweaker-gui-for-win8-v132/page-12
  15. Welcome Aboard!!
  16. Welcome Aboard! and enjoy the forum..DP
  17. BigMuscle, I know it must frustrate you to no end about someone tampering and cracking what you have worked so long and hard on, and I Know that the Majority of us on here Don't want some Cracked version but rather a legit paid for version!, So keep up the good work and We will be ready only after its been fully tested and your ready to release it..DP
  18. Ok, it does have voice notification but silent as in "No user interaction" or can be use in unattended installs..DP
  19. For those of you that would rather manually change BigMuscle's aero glass via the registry and not mess with one of the available installers or a tweaker app, I created this standalone script called "DWMGlassTool". The tool has only 2 basic options: Enable Aero or Disable Aero, and because its a standalone and non-tweaker it does not require any installation or uninstaller, nor does it leave behind old registry changes like a tweaker app. You can get the DWMGlassTool off of my thread @ ==>http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/163503-aeroglass-v03-x64-silent-installer-for-windows-8/ [How To Use] >> Just Download AeroGlass 32 or 64-bit from BigMuscle @http://glass8.berlios.de/ >> Create a folder called DWM in your systemdrive and place the six (6) downloaded files in. >> Launch as admin. DWMGlassTool from your desktop. >> Choose your option. >> Will logoff to make registry change. Thats it..simple and easy..DP

  21. Sounds like its not Every time you boot up but a single instance, so If your getting a one time message after using the pre-cleanup then its just looking for the deleted file that is no longer available and should not be anything to worry about..DP
  22. I would uninstall from DWM with the Pre-cleanup.cmd then Programs and Features and run a virus scan also Do you get the C:\Program message when Windows boots up?
  23. You can find it on my thread included with my updated cmd installer http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/163503-aeroglass-v03-x64-silent-installer-for-windows-8/ I included a system restore point with my installer but If you have any problems or questions just post them over there..DP
  24. 1.3.2 (latest)... AGT works fine usually... But the latest doesn't for me try 1.3.3
  25. Well you must have other issues going on or else Everyone would be complaining about AGTweaker.. BTW which tweaker version are you using?
