  1. hmm, ACPI failed to load DDB. can you try this acpi.sys? (already cab compressed) put this in your XP ISO and rebuild with nlite if you get a BSOD, post a screenshot ACPI.SY_
  2. Can you send a screenshot of your A5 BSOD? It will give hints as to what the error is Have you tried my ISO? It has a patched ACPI driver that should have fixed these errors (unless i've missed something)
  3. Thanks very much
  4. Does anyone know of an Alternative Device Manager for Win98? Preferably one that shows HWIDs? So I can know exactly which device I'm installing
  5. We have a storahci driver for XP https://www.win-raid.com/t4035f45-Windows-XP-SP-bit-and-modern-PC-parts-60.html#msg81198 We also have ACPI working on AMD Ryzen
  6. I think newer AMD AHCI storage controllers are dependent on ACPI to manage resources - without ACPI the Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller doesn't work, so AHCI controller never receives IRQ
  7. pressing F7 will skip loading acpi - what happens if you don't press F7?
  8. odd - the l on the end of the link wasn't hyperlinked just copy the whole address into your address bar https://www.techspot.com/downloads/7104-cabpack.html

  13. I can compile storahci sample with vs2017 for default target platform windows 10 - any tips for compiling for earlier platforms?
  14. I can recall it worked in the past. I remember being able to use storport from server 2003 in the past on XP on an old build using an old version amd_sata driver.
  15. Can anyone compile this storahci driver sample but target XP? https://github.com/Microsoft/Windows-driver-samples/tree/master/storage/miniports/storahci
  16. I managed to get the USB 2.0 card drivers working, plugged in a USB mouse, now all is good.
  17. tried a zowie usb mouse, similar misbehavior from that too. Oh well, If I make any progress on getting this to work i will update.
  18. ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 gaming k4
  19. I grabbed an old PS/2 mouse, and it wouldn't even work in the BIOS! why?! I thought PS/2 it should at least work in BIOS. I've look everywhere in BIOS, the only option I can see is PS/2 Y-Cable I've tried auto and enabled (no disable option?) - made no difference PS/2 mouse won't work, might be dead USB mouse works fine in BIOS any alternative to the vmouse.vxd driver anywhere?
  20. It might be something to do with how windows98 handles USB devices, since the keyboard will also misbehave if I disconnect and reconnect it.
  21. OK, So I've been attempting to install windows98 SE on my Ryzen 5 2400g system using @rloew's patches, it's been going well so far. I've made it up to the windows98 desktop, but i now have an issue with my mouse. It jumps to the corners of my screen way too quickly and it's unusable. Earlier during the install, I could use the setup /il switch to fix this problem - /il - Load the Logitech mouse driver. Use this option if you have a Logitech Series C mouse. is there a way to tell windows98 to use the Logitech mouse driver all the time? or another solution?
  22. I'm curious to know how to make the CAB files for win9x properly, since cabpack doesn't seem to do it right for win9x (although cabpack works fine for winXP)
  23. is there any way possible to use you own customized CAB files for win9x installation? if so how?
  24. So if you connect an 8tb drive via USB in XP it will work?
