I share your sentiments about the last couple of Bonds. I would rank Dr No or Goldfinger #8 on my list.

I'll add my two cents... checking for malware might be a good idea as well. I don't know your situation.... but perhaps you can get to a library and download the following programs. (Take a blank CD-R or USB flash drive with you to library). If you aren't able to do this, then perhaps you could suggest them to your Doctor friend and he can use them. I will provide links to a few programs, and if you need help running or loading them, I'm sure we can help. It's just another avenue to persue... since you never mentioned what kind of security/anti-virus software you have. Without much detailed information about your PC we don't have much to go on at the moment, therefore it's like stabbing in the dark. But, I'm sure it's fixable one way or the other. BugHunter Malware Scanner for DOS http://bughunter.it-mate.co.uk/ F-Prot Anti-Virus for DOS ftp://ftp.sac.sk/pub/sac/avir/fp-316f.zip ftp://ftp.sac.sk/pub/sac/avir/fp-def.zip ^ Make a folder called "Fprot" and extract the contents of both zip files into that folder. It will ask you to overwrite the older definitions, simply click yes. Once both zip files are extracted to the folder, go to Start, then Run, then type in "command." A black screen should appear. Then type in "F-prot /old." The program will start, tell it to search all local disks. To get back to windows type "Exit." F-prot can sometimes repair a "broken" or infected Master Boot record. MemScan http://roseswe.ez-web.de/ *Edit* Lastly, make sure your hard drive isn't out of space. Those back up programs might use up a lot of drive space if left unchecked. Silly suggestion about drive space, but yeah.

Russian Gang Amasses Over a Billion Internet Passwords
ZortMcGort11 replied to Monroe's topic in General Discussion
Aw heck, who really knows what's going on over there, right? I was reading some articles on the Ebola outbreak and they all say it can't be spread through the air. So I guess I will calm down about it. LOL. -

what, you think all those doctors who contracted ebola, you think they treated patients in the nude? They wore protective gear, still caught it though. -

I will have to agree with ROTS on this one. I think this entire thing is just a false flag, psyop, or whatever you want to call it. Smoke and mirrors. They have to periodically make some threat up... level orange, no, make that threat-level red. Sorry, you can relax now, it's back to level yellow. Where's the proof that billions of passwords were stolen? Are we just supposed to take their word for it? Like we're supposed to believe that they actually captured Bin Laden, or that there really were weapons-of-mass-destruction? That last lie cost us thousands of American lives, probably millions of Iraqi lives, and put us trillions of dollars in debt. But corporate profits, bank profits, and oil company profits are at an all-time high. If it comes from the mainstream media, sorry, I don't believe a single word they say. They have lied by omission enough times, and beaten the war drums in order to spook the american public into sacrificing our liberties, that I have lost all trust in them. (This is also the same government that treats illegal immigrants better than it does war veterans). If I brake the law, I'm thrown in jail. If a non-citizen breaks the law, they get free healthcare and food on the american taxpayer's dime. That is the americans who actually CAN pay taxes because they have jobs, not the 92 million who aren't in the labor force, despite the official unemployment rate which is 6%. Furthermore, bringing Ebola patients into the US makes everybody one sneeze or cough away from Martial Law and government storm-troopers putting us all on trains to the nearest death camps. Either this country is run by absolute morons, or else they are purposefully trying to destroy it. Simple as that. -
"Key Largo" was my favorite Bogart and Bacall film. She was also in "The Shootist" with John Wayne, which is one of my favorite westerns.

No. I'm referring to the DirectShow filter, here: http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/oggdsf/oggcodecs_0.73.1936.exe ^ This will add OGG support to Windows Media Player 9. This directshow filter also allows ImgBurn to write OGG and FLAC files to cd's. *Edit* Here's my old thread on this topic: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171190-burning-ape-flac-files-using-imgburn-not-working/

K-Meleon 1.5.4, SeaMonkey 1.1.19, and Firefox 2.0.0.20 are good browsers. Even better with "noscript" plugin.

Windows Installer 2.0 (instmsia.exe) http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/windows-installer-2-0-for-windows-95-windows-98-and-windows-me-HA001049894.aspx There is also a codec package for giving WMP9 built-in support for OGG and Flac. But I've lost the link for that :-( I will try and find it. For the most part, the programs you listed are the things I have to individually install every time I do a fresh install of Windows ME. The only thing you didn't include was that Windows Installer 2.0, since that is needed for installing certain things.

The Updated Mini List of Win98/ME Software
ZortMcGort11 replied to ZortMcGort11's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I tried IE5 a few months ago for the fun of it..... yes, it still works without javascript. Turn on javascript and you'll probably instantly crash your computer on any website more complex than, say, the Drudge Report.. It ain't pretty. You can use the "Off by One" browser and still log into MSFN. And it looks even worse than IE 5. But for a 1 megabyte browser that could fit on a floppy disk, it's quite impressive. I'd suggest "upgrading" your browser to at least K-Meleon 1.5.4 or SeaMonkey 1.1.19 and turn off javascript as well. I consider those the absolute bare minimum for Windows 98/Me. Anything more advanced requires KernelEx or a newer computer. -
