  1. how is this different from the one posted on the msfn guide?
  2. post 55 and post 56 are the same...
  3. **** good idea...
  4. I love it that theres 3 seperate quick launch discussions on the 1st page of Unattended Windows threads...
  5. First off, I already posted this in the WinXP section.. then noticed this section and figured this to be more prevelant to it instead... sorry for the double post and admins- feel free to move/delete the other one... Either one of these 2 things Im looking to do here... 1. Ive got a web host provider with a ton of space and bandwith Im not using. Is there any way possible that I can configure windows to connect to and use that space as an additional hard drive that I can access via explorer? 2. Could I setup my home PC with an 'online folder' that I could connect to and treat as an addtional drive (such as a network drive) on say my work pc. I know WinXP has that 'Web Folders' functionality, but Im not real familiar with it enough to know if this is the solution to what Im looking for. Basically the main thing Im looking for here is a place to centrally house my frequently accessed files (docs, mp3s, vids perhaps) and have the ability to access them directly from remote locations (mainly my work pc). Are either of these possible? Any ideas or suggestions would be great! Thanks! ::EDIT:: I figured out how to accomplish the 2nd thing I wanted to do here, by simply configuring IIS and creating a webshare to the folders I want to access on my home PC. So just need to figure out how to do the 1st thing I was looking for... use web space as an online virtual drive.... is it possible??
  6. I highly recommend using Microsofts Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). If you have Windows XP, its already built in. In addition to that, one of the main reasons I prefer RDC over any of the other previously mentioned solutions is you can also enable any sounds that your remote PC plays to play through the speakers you connecting in from. What good does that do you ask? Well, instead of carting your entire MP3 collection around with you wherever you go, you simply connect to your home pc with RDC, load up your mp3 player of choice on it and listen away... Over a broadband connection it sounds exactly like your playing on your PC directly. I love it.
  7. I recommend using the sysinternals util called autoruns
  8. Answer to your 1st question has been covered numerous times... there are a couple ways you can do this, including using winnt.sif or a reg tweak..
  9. figured as much... thanks!
  10. um. nm... i should learn how to read.
  11. Better yet.. why dont you try looking at some recent topics... its covered like 5 posts down....
  12. Is it possible to set other options with this? IE: Notifier preferences, scroll title window in task bar, etc...
  13. Make sure you use a refresh rate of 1 for vmware
  14. No... and if you searched youd see that theres already like 5 topics that say the same thing...
  15. anyone confirm the results on this? how about the amount of icons that appear? does this fix that as well? Thanks!
  16. Heres a question for ya.. whats the difference between that normal quote button and the new 'Toggle multiquote addition' button?
  17. You should only have to read the 1st post by simon and the link he mentions in that 1st post about asta's method of implementing extensions and themes... Just download the 1st exe he has a link for, use that as your installer, uninstall firefox if you have it installed already, "remove the mozilla firefox" , then install using this installer. Goto the Prog Files\mozilla firefox folder, launch the default profile shortcut thats in there and install your extensions and themes you want and configure your settings how you want... once thats done, simply save you 'defaults\profile' folder... and copy that and your plugins folder to your UA CD and have it copied back to its original location once the install has run on your UA install (or create an SFX that will extract to the folder instead)
  18. innosetup uses /DIR=
  19. In addition to this, have you figured out how to set the size of the quick launch bar? Every time I do this, its always only 4 icons wide....
  20. Anyone on either of these??
  21. Is there an english version on this?
  22. Well the 1st thing Id say is to read up on Simonsays Unattended Firefox install method. I also recommend using Astalavista's method of implementing your themes and extensions (also covered in the same thread). Then, when your create your profile.exe, simply include the plugins folder as well, in addition to your defaults folder... This will make more sense once you read that thread, trust me.
  23. Well I like it the new look... great job guys... Love the "search topic" functionality and the 'lo fi' link on the bottom (was that there before?)- gonna be great when Im checkin this place out over my cell phone.... cant wait to find out what else has been added. Only request- any chance of placing a "view your posts" link up top with my controls, view new posts, etc? bunch of forums have this.. no biggie if ya dont though.. easy enough just to use search for my own name (which is what I do now) i suppose. Nice work as always gentlemen!
  24. All you need to do is install the plugins (using Yzowls sugesstion- use Real and QuickTime Alternatives) then save your 'plugins' folder and simply copy that in, along with your profile, during your unattended install.
