  1. ok, once I get access to my brother camera, expect, like 50 pics of me building the machine. about an hour, or so ... i promise not to host all em on msfn
  2. @ripken204 I am giving it 1.6V due to the fact I am using mushkin redline @ 3.6V basically, venice core and newer, need to have 1/2 the vcore of the vmem, or you can cause serious damage to your processor. I know I am not there, but a 1.45 would hurt it more than the 1.6 is. but no way am I gonna give it 1.8 lol http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=79509
  3. @LLXX I cant belive, after all my posts, about what goes on in xp home with my dual core opteron 165, you went on to say, it can't use the second core ...
  4. I can confirm xp home, uses both cores, when @100% cpu, its using half of each core if you execute 2 threads, that use 100% cpu, its using 100% of both cpus, even wmp 10, uses a piece of each core. actually all programs do. now the question, I want to ask, if a program in xp pro, uses 100% of the cpu with a single thread, will it use 100% of both cpus? vs 50% of each?
  5. wierd, my xp home, can run two copies of prime95 dont have any smp software, so cant really test that. both cores work, and work well at that. and dual core, goes far beyond, useless, its extremly useful, when multi-tasking. ex. run a game, and a game server, from one machines, no lags, no FPS hit, etc. still not sure, if that actually means, dual core, rather dual processor. or else, quad core wouldn't work in xp pro, and you'd have to goto 2k3. also same goes for intel HT processors too then, they only work under xp pro? and are completly usesless in xp home? i just used, CliBench Mk III SMP version from what I can see, SMP works in XP Home, anyway to prove it dont?
  6. where does it say, it dont use both cores? even if it dont. games can still use both cores. no diff , cept the windows core then ...
  7. second it will boot no prob many of us here @ msfn already use em me for one. improving boot times, yah maybeh, but prove it, when you cant use bootvis hahah
  8. heh, reuamar, actually its already there too. it will be done, trust me . for everyones needs, unless , your looking to get rid of lets say. inet ok pics of my comp are up, check em out here http://img204.imageshack.us/img_viewer_fra...onmydesk1cm.jpg

  10. windows will boot, its just a bootloader but, when using with overclocking memory, your computer might become unstable. why? who knows, just whats been said.
  11. heh I can only do so much @ once. got my computer up and running. now got to get my old one ready for my brother. plus, I need to get microwinX on this computer, and get it ready for beta 2.5.
  12. I just got my new machine up, currently, I got my opteron 165, 1.8Ghz default @ 2.6 Ghz stable (FX 60) going for 2.8 Ghz
  13. beta 2.5 should be out, in a couple of weeks. Ill let you know, if that changes. got my new computer up, once I got a thread done, for it, ill show everyone
  14. firefox? opera? heh, IE7 can interfere with lots of programs that require IE, ex trillian basic/pro. why not include the dx9c update though, lots of new games need it. 1 so far, civ 4 that I know of
  15. I think you just solved your own problem ... xp pro disk and then entering a xp home key ... if you have a xp home oem key, you need an xp home oem cd if you have a xp home retail key, you need an xp home retail cd I think you get the point
  16. heh, so basically, if you call your computer upgrade, (switch) a motherboard being defective, you dont breach the eula. heh, basically, only certain computer manufacturers, have oem cds, that prevent you from install that windows on another computer. ex. toshiba laptop, restore cds. but then again, thats not a xp oem cd.
  17. hahahhah nice emo's but, naw, married couples dont talk about windows xp ...

    Which Kernel?

dont delete either do you really want, a dual core only system? ntkrnlmp.exe is for dual core ntoskrnl.exe is for single core ntkrnlpa.exe if for when over 3GB of ram? there might be another one.
  19. there is nothing, in a regular oem cd (store bought) that would stop your from installing it on different hardware.
  20. but since when did anyone read EALU's haha nvm btw, I dont think M$ is after the poor man, misusing an OEM copy rather, corperations, who, install 100 + copies they never paid for. and that guy in china, selling vista beta 1 haha
