Remove Links from IE favorites.
BoardBabe replied to BoardBabe's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Thank you! Would I then not have to delete this dir in my cleanup? rd /s /q "%UserProfile%\Favoritter\Koblinger" ad : [FavoritesEx] to your winnt.sif , and the standard favorites should be gone Actually it seems this might remove the actual shortcuts within IE>>Favourites>>Links, and not the Links "folder" itself? My problem is that I want this folder gone and removed from IE>>Favourites PS. The path on my Norwegian system is %UserProfile%\Favoritter\Koblinger (%UserProfile%\Favourites\Links on english system) -
If I delete the %UserProfile%\Favourites\Links dir it just comes back. Any idea how to prevent it from appearing on the IE favourites drop-down?

The command window in win XP has the old classic style. Is there a way to make it look like a nomral folder/app in a themed XP?

Is there such thing? I would like an Open Command Window here in Norwegian (Åpne kommandolinje her). -
The order of the content in winnt.sif does not matter at all. Also wether you have a space between the "=" and value should not matter. Though I changed something else, lets see if you can find it Anyway... As the previous posts I must agree I doubt the problem is winnt.sif.

I'm guessing you have something under [COMPONENTS]? Well, went through your winnt.sif of what you posted and it looks good to me. This is how I'd write it though, but shouldnt produce error if it differs. I would like to add some additional folder icons to the list of default icons. How is this done?
-
@expero: Uhm... Neatness and the ease of use when they appear together with default icons in shell32. I don't have any better answer of why I'd like to do it, and that's not important either
-
These folders look great! Could they be included on UA media somehow? So they can be selected alongside the standard folder icons in XP?

Use MHz' AutoIt script in the AutoIt script collection thread. I've tried it and it is very professional and smooth working (wish there were and option to remove ALL shortcuts though, but I inprovised that). And No im not wrong. The silent switch /S does not work. If the creators of DiVX intended for it to work or not, in this version, (namely if it can be defined as a bug or not) I do not know. It does not appear to be any other switches either. Why don't you just use AutoIt? It's simple and works perfectly. It's even as good as no GUI at all appearing. Try autoit and you will see...

Tricking WU think Messenger 4.7 is installed
BoardBabe replied to twizt3d's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
RyanVM's trademark is to be a bit cryptic so that you will have to do some reasearch on your own... That way you learn more... I learned the same way that the file DataStore.edb in %SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore stores the information of Windows / Microsoft -update. On a fresh install, run WU/MU once and HIDE whatever you want to hide and then immediatly close IE. Now grab DataStore.edb and place it in $OEM$\$$\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore. PS. DataStore.edb will be IN USE by system after you run WU/MU and therefore you might have to boot to safe-mode to copy/replace it. Next time you install win, it will remember the settings (this method also skips initial MU welcome process and default IE Tools>>Windows Update to microsoft update page (IF INSTALLED)). -

I'm currently running the network setup wizard with autoit at the end of setup, it works like a charm! It also sets up my machine for file and printer sharing... -
