I installed 5.7 on a system four days ago by putting the driver on Cd and calling the control panel with the switch /K. IT WORKED.

What about an option to select how WPI detects the cd-drive? I mean if it uses WPI.ico or WIN51. Because that is the root directory for the config and I don't have my programs in the WPI subfolder Install. PLS integrate it. If not, I have to change generate.js every time I update WPI, and for the last update, I forgot it.

The problem is not the WPI.cmd file. I think, in your config.js for each prog you got something like cmd1[pn]=['%cdrom%\\winapp\\blalba\\programmname.exe'] Am I right? So you think, that %cdrom% is the root of your CD. But with the new WPI releases this has changed. Now, WPI looks for the file WPI.ico on the CD. This file is located in %cdroot%\WPI\. So if you use the variable %cdrom% it is %cdrom%\WPI. Do you understand me? I did the following to solve that problem: Browse to your WpiScripts folder. Open the file generate.js with an editor. Now search for the entry "function FindCDRom" In the next lines there should be the filename "WPI.ico" two times. Change the filename to "WIN51", because the file WIN51 is part of the Win XP CD and is located in the root of the CD (Make sure that it is in the root of your CD). Now WPI should look for %cdrom% in the root again. And one wish to kelsenellenelvian: Could you integrate an option for selecting where WPI locates %cdrom%? So that one can select "Root" or "WPI-Folder", because I have my programs in the root, too. Not in the WPI Install folder. This would be very nice. The other possibility is that I change the generate.js of every release.

There is an option so that there is only the symbol in the system tray. I think that is silent enough. Another thing: I said that for me the unattended Audio player plays mp3 files, but yesterday I did an install and it did not play them. If I start the exe file by doubleclicking on it, it plays the mp3 files. But when I start it with the WPI.cmd file only the player starts and plays no tracks. I don't know why...Waiting for the new Audio player.

I installed the Beta on my current running system. In the startmenu I found the new Settings tool for changing the icon size. I played with it, but now I got 32*32 pixel as before. But now my problem. After 10 chars of the linkname or appname windows hides the filename and puts in ".." instead. How can I change this??? The appname "jv16 PowerTools" once was in 1 line. Now it takes 2, for example. Help me!!! PLS

I tried the switches for the logo without the process bar. You have to use both, /noguiboot and /bootlogo. If you only use /noguiboot, there is NO logo (nogui) . If you only use /bootlogo, for a second there is your bootlogo from the boot.bmp, but then the standart Windows Bootscreen appears. So I will place my boot.bmp into %windir% and then on first startup run this .bat-file: bootcfg /RAW "/noguiboot /bootlogo" /A /ID 1 Now, I just need the XPized BootScreen.

Yes, that one is better, but in the current theme (WPI 3.6.1) I like the Windows logo in the middle. It is not that monotonous the new theme is.

For me, it plays mp3 files.

I use WPI since a version between 2.0B and 2.93 (it isn't listed in the changelog ). I just think, that the icon stuff in WPI looks totally cool. And so I try to have an icon for every app. But I don't have an programlist that is as long as some members lists with 200+ entries. I just got 37 entries. And thanks for the links. Seems as if wincustomize isn't online atm but I will try later, after I have updated the WPI of my MultiSystem-DVD.

OK. I did a lot of searches at wincustomize.com ! And nearly all my programlist is ready, but has anyone got an idea, which symbol I can take for Cleaning up the install and reboot the computer? And a symbol for applying my RegTweaks, disabling GamePort in Device Manager and setting up my BootScreen? Then, it's perfect

The new versions support icons in the tooltips. I downloaded the WPI Take 3 by blinkdt and saw, that he had very many of these icons in 128*128 pixel. Does someone know, where I can get those icons from? And how can I convert the icons of exe files to an jpg or png picture? Are there any programs out there? Perhaps we can even have an icon pool, to which everybody can add his icons.

I think it's not just the notification the people want to give. It also is an indirect question, if your .msi is updated and if so, when? But it always the same: Veni, Vidi, Vici. Alanoll came, saw and did the update.

Hey kelsenellenelvian, my WPI won't start. Even if I take your package and DO NOT MODIFY it. It gives me an error 'sgStartInstall' is undefined in WPI.hta. It's in line 19, character 1. Any solution? When clicking 'yes' and hovering over the Exit button (it doesn't say Exit, it is "undefined") he gives me an error in main.js: Message: 'length' is null or no object Url: file://G:\\WPI_3.6.1\WPI\WPI.hta File: main.js Line: 128

Hmm. For me, it plays mp3 files! It's working like a charm.

Have you got the music in the music directory? Just try this then: [Track1] Name="Title.mp3" Location="Title.mp3" And for testing, you can also open the UAP2.exe on your HDD.

Hey man. Would it be possible, to integrate the Manual button into the translation file? Then the screen is perfect.

The problem is the file wpi.htm in the default themes dir. Did you copy it and then replace the other files with yours? Then open the wpi.htm with an editor. You will find very many entries like the following: <img id="titleimg" src="./themes/Default/title.gif" border=0 align="center"> In every entry, the folder "Default" has to be changed into "Castle" as an example. I hope this helps.

Oh sorry I saw. It works now. Just had to give the file name to the location. [Track1] Name="Test.mp3" Location="Test.mp3" Stupid I am. Now WPI rocks!!

I don't get my mp3 file played....Could someone plspost an example? This would even help if it was in the manual. Btw, great release.

That looks awesome kelsenellenelvian!!! Now I think I will use the integrated theme. On the second screen I see the Icon in the description. Would it be possible, that WPI takes the Icon of the installer automatically? (Or have an option) Btw, what happened to hasi? Doesn't he develop WPI any more?
