Although I have said that the air is getting very, very thin for anyone who wants to run an antimalware programme with real-time protection on a machine with an SSE only CPU that is still receiving current definition updates, however, common sense should not desert the user of such old computers. I will test whether Panda Free Antivirus will run on computers with a CPU that does not have SSE2 support. Maybe, there are other users who have already gained experience with Panda Free Antivirus on such computers and are willing to share their knowledge.

FYI, I had a "nice" conversation in the Malwarebytes Forums: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/309490-have-you-all-stopped-making-updates/ Unfortunately, there won't be any further definition updates for Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300. They have deliberately stopped rolling out current definition updates for this version. After the end of support for Avast Free Antivirus 2015, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.2.1.1043 and now Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300, the air is getting very, very thin for anyone who wants to run an antimalware programme with real-time protection on a machine with an SSE only CPU that is still receiving current definition updates. All in all, bad news!

News about my mod uBlock Origin Legacy! I have of course noticed that there is considerable interest in my mod uBlock Origin Legacy. I have therefore addressed the problem of updating an existing installation of my mod. With the upcoming release of uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.34, it will then also be possible to install over an existing installation of my mod (1.16.4.34 and higher). The internal list of all preselected filter lists (assets.json) will then finally be automatically updated, too. I am still in the testing phase, but everything looks good and seems to work so far. Cheers, AstroSkipper

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Install the extension SQLite Manager 0.8.3.1 from the Classic Add-ons Archive! This extension can manage sqlite files such as your webappsstore.sqlite inside New Moon. BTW, my file is only about 12 MB. With SQLite Manager 0.8.3.1, you can view all entries, add new ones, edit or delete old ones. My webappsstore.sqlite files in different profiles are of different sizes from 96 KB up to 12 MB. -

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
Update notification! As already reported , the Root Certificates have been updated and are now from 26-03-2024. Here are screenshots of both updaters: Therefore, my self-created, offline Root Certificate Updaters in the section 11.2.4. Downloads related to Root Certificate Updates (in the first post of this thread) will also be updated if I can somehow trick this crappy forum post editor. Cheers, AstroSkipper- 922 replies

ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
AstroSkipper replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
FYI, due to the fact that the MSFN forum editor is totally broken and hasn't been working properly for months, especially when it comes to inserting of links , I wasn't able to edit my main article ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use the last weeks. Unfortunately, I have to revise and to change some content in this article to be hopefully able again to edit it and to add the links for the new offline Root Certificate Updaters. This all is very annoying and time-consuming.- 922 replies

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I think the -no-remote option does the same in both, New Moon and Firefox. I used this option in the past via shortcuts I created to launch different versions of Firefox in the same Windows XP installation. -
My Browser Builds (Part 5)

I fear that no one here will convert a webextension to a legacy extension, just on request. The probability for that is close to zero. Especially when it comes to a rather unimportant extension whose function is already covered by some legacy extensions. The effort involved for doing such a project is very significant. The only way is looking for an extension programmer, who usually has to be paid for, or performing such conversion on their own. -
Hello @NojusK! I am using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300 on one of my Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit partitions. Unfortunately, I have to make the same observation here. The update works, but the last update of the virus definition is v2024.03.13.12. Nothing more up-to-date is currently available. Here is a screenshot: However, we should wait some days to see if this is really the end. You know hope dies last. In any case, I totally agree Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300 was and is the lightest antimalware programme ever. That's why I was so happy in July 2023 to have found a way to reactivate it. Just a tip. Save this last definition update to recover it for whatever reasons in the case it is no longer available via online update! Greetings, AstroSkipper

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
People do request a lot. That doesn't mean anything. But the main problem is there must be someone who is willing to develop such 64-bit releases. If there is no serious need or strong demand for such stuff, no one will create those versions. It's as simple as that. Even if you don't want to hear that now. On the other hand, that doesn't mean to give up, either. -

I'm not surprised at all. As you know, complex postings with special links and code are currently very problematic due to the new life of the MSFN post editor. The longer the post, the sooner the well-known error message appears. BTW, any news for us about your obviously changed update policy in terms of UXP browsers and email clients or did I miss something? -
Latest Version of Software Running on XP
AstroSkipper replied to pointertovoid's topic in Windows XP
Looking at the quotation from the version history on their homepage, the support for Windows XP seems to have been restored in WINSCP 6.3.2 and that completely unexpected. Unbelievable and great! WinSCP is the FTP client I am using to connect my Android devices with my Windows XP computer via WLAN. I thought support for Windows XP had been discontinued for good. BTW, the most recent version 6.4 is already announced but not released yet. But it will probably not be long in coming. -

AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Of course! I always use the most recent version of New Moon 28 and Serpent 52 unless a serious issue has been reported. But TBH, you can go back to previous releases at any time. So, no risk. You can only win. -

Try the most recent version of Serpent 52 (2024-02-24) using a fresh profile! If the 64-bit version still shows the issue, try the 32-bit version where GitHub's search function works in any case! -
Can't edit my first post in thread / Error when posting links
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Site & Forum Issues
Is there any progress in fixing the broken MSFN post editor? For months, editing/updating of old posts is definitely a game of chance and in certain cases rather a torture. At this point, I should mention that I have a lot of posts which have to be updated on a regular base. Thus, I am particularly affected. -
Update notification! That's simply great. Just posted I can already announce an update. RogueKiller Anti-Malware has been updated to version 15.15.3 on 11.03.2024. Therefore, I've updated my new article. and my list. So, my statement that this programme is updated on a regular base seems to be correct. Cheers, AstroSkipper

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Thanks! However, it was @reboot12 who originally posted this issue. So, we mainly hope for him that this can be fixed. I personally think it is a minor issue which doesn't occur when the window is in full size. I wouldn't have even noticed this issue if it hadn't been reported here. Presumably, this issue is CSS related. But just a guess. -
RogueKiller Anti-Malware RogueKiller is an antimalware programme by Adlice Software, headquartered in France, for advanced users capable of removing stubborn malware based on a list of signatures and heuristic analysis. A command line version is also available. It is thus able to detect and remove a broad range of known and unknown malware. Its capabilities make it an outstanding tool to eliminate the most resistant infections, like rootkits. Therefore, using RogueKiller is particularly recommended for malware removal, but it can also be used to ensure the operating system's integrity. Indeed, no risk of conflict with an existing antivirus is to be expected. RogueKiller Anti-Malware comes in three versions, Free, Premium and Technician. The Premium and the Technician editions are commercial. RogueKiller Anti-Malware is fully compatible with Windows XP. Features: Kills malicious programs and services. Drops malicious DLLs from running processes. Detects and kills hidden malicious programs. Find and remove malicious autostart entries. Find and remove Registry hijacks. Master Boot Record (MBR), Detects and remove hijacked DNS and host entries (HOSTS file). Feature comparison Free vs. Premium vs. Technician: Homepage: https://www.adlice.com/roguekiller/ Version number: 15.17.4 Date of release: 26.06.2024 System requirements: Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8 / Windows 10 / Windows 11 Hardware requirements: A CPU with at least SSE2 instruction set. It can be used in the free version as an offline scanner and threats removal tool in addition to an already existing antimalware programme with real-time protection. If wanted, even in portable mode. Absolutely great is that it is still XP-compatible and updated on a regular base. Furthermore, the paid premium version is a real antimalware programme with real-time and ransomware protection. My Browser Builds (Part 5)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
In my browser New Moon 28 (32-bit) 2024-02-23), the code seems to look okay. In full windows size, there is of course no need to scroll horizontally, only vertically. But if I reduce the size of the window, however, I can confirm your issue with horizontal scrolling. Here is a screenshot to show this issue taken from New Moon 28: -
