  1. You're absolutely right! What is to happen will happen anyway. There's nothing we can do about it anyway. And we don't want to make it worse, do we? Time to move on in this thread.
  2. Yep, this thread has grown a bit. Unfortunately, there are many repetitions. But not learning very much always means that a few things were there, right? You're welcome! Qihu 360 Total Security Essential 8.8.0.1119 is indeed a new option and not that bad. I do not have any problems using Chinese programs. In China, Windows XP is still quite present. Therefore, one must also increasingly expect Chinese software and be glad that there are still countries that develop programs for our old operating systems.
  3. That seems to be the norm these days. I'm not particularly squeamish and I can handle it well. The hard school of life! Being an old customer no longer means anything. Only the new customer counts until he/she/it has bought, then you are an old customer again. That was definitely different in the past.
  4. FYI, the definition updates are usually distributed several times a day. Therefore, the version changes continously. The last time I checked, two hours ago, it was 1.0.29440.
  5. Thanks! But which loss do you mean? There is personally no serious loss. If Malwarebytes really stops rolling out fresh definition updates, the current state will be good enough for a while. Of course, no new definition updates would be a great pity and another setback for all users on Windows XP and Vista. But my license is also valid for the most recent 4.5.25 or upcoming versions, i.e. versions targeting Windows 7 or 10. It's a lifetime license, whatever lifetime means, of course especially according to the recent experiences made.
  6. You're right! Now that you've pointed it out, I see it too. Ransomware protection is activated, and this is actually not possible natively under Windows XP and Vista. Good watch out!
  7. My question on Malwarebytes' forum: AdvancedSetup's direct reply: Maybe, this Root Admin is not able to answer a question accordingly and correctly. It is possible he always gives the same reply "support of version 3.5.1 will end soon". Whatever support he is referring to. I can't really assess his skills. Seems to me more of a robot.
  8. My Windows XP machine works perfectly. There is nothing to give up. If Malwarebytes stops providing definition updates for their version 3.5.1.2522, I have enough other options which of course are not comparable to those in Windows 7 and up. But my options are sufficient for the foreseeable future. And I will share the knowledge about these options here, of course.
  9. I usually consider such discussion as useless, too. But I am really an old customer of Malwarebytes and I don't have to put up with such insolence. In their forum, the moderators only allow answers or questions that conform to their views, including the thread title. You can't edit it and you can't edit your own posts either. A true junk forum. You're absolutely right! We have to and we will help each other as usual.
  10. I booted into my second Windows XP partition one hour ago. The last version of my definitions was 1.0.29432. So for now, updating of definitions is working. BTW, the topic in Malwarebytes forum will be closed soon. I am no longer interested to talk to such moderators as Porthos or AdvancedSetup. I have left an appropriate closing comment after all these kind words.
  11. The support for Malwarebytes Premium 3.5.1.2522 has already been dropped for years. No new program updates! As far as I correctly understood and I asked there directly, they want to drop the definition updates (what you call pattern updates) for this version. Look in "my" thread there whatever my thread means in that forum! I think my thread is more their thread!
  12. Reading all this, it seems that Malwarebytes will indeed stop supporting Windows XP and Vista very soon, unfortunately. Read these sources: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/295844-legacy-3512522-sudden-red-triangle-your-updates-are-not-current/#comment-1558895 https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/296406-windows-xp-does-not-have-lifetime-support/#comment-1561182 https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/144824-malwarebytes-commits-to-lifetime-support-for-xp-users/ Anyway! No good news!
  13. Thanks! Porthos has replied and informed me.
  14. XP (and Vista) users should really keep an eye on that thread ; things look grim ... The opening post there displays a picture of what Dave described in a previous post here: However, this time the MB staff aren't interested in "resolving it"; according to the reporter (and confirmed by a staff member), Malwarebytes Premium Legacy 3.5.1.2522 can no longer receive def updates under Vista/Win7 - thanks to user feedback in this thread, we do know XP installations still receive these ; but all the MB staff can, apparently, do is endlessly recite ad nauseam the "inherent perils of running Microsoft unsupported Windows versions like XP/Vista ; as per @Imacri's post 3hr ago, MB staff have started wiping out Forum references to "Malwarebytes support for legacy Windows XP and Vista Operating Systems"; what comes next ? OT: @mina7601; Since you seem to have a Vista SP2 VM installed, could you be so kind as to try MB Legacy 3.5.1.2522 there and check whether its defs can be updated? Thanks in advance ... I didn't want to miss the opportunity to post a statement about Malwarebytes and what's going on there in the aforementioned thread: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/296406-windows-xp-does-not-have-lifetime-support/#comment-1561182 In case of deleting my comment, I made a picture from my statement: Cheers, AstroSkipper
  15. I do not block anything in New Moon 28 regarding Glarysoft. Both, uBlock Origin and eMatrix have been configured to allow all access to this site. BTW, same problem in Serpent 52. All horses back! You were right! I tested everything more deeply. The problem is uBlock Origin, which blocked the addthis.com page. addThis -> no built-in JavaScript object. In any case, this made these menus inaccessible. Thanks for the tip!
  16. I do not block anything in New Moon 28 regarding Glarysoft. Both, uBlock Origin and eMatrix have been configured to allow all access to this site. BTW, same problem in Serpent 52.
  17. I reported this to the issues of martok's palefill on GitHub. Here is the link: https://github.com/martok/palefill/issues/88 Cheers, AstroSkipper Edit: The issue has been solved, and I reorted it on GitHub. Therefore, it will be closed soon.
  18. No problem here with eMatrix in New Moon 28 on VirusTotal! And I use eMatrix together with uBlock Origin.
  19. Update package version of 1.0.29424 confirmed in Windows XP. Here is a screenshot as a proof:
  20. Let's assume that this was not what was meant. Rather to move with all means in the direction of Windows 10 or 11.
  21. I initiated an upload of https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/41-malwarebytes-for-windows-support-forum/ to archive.org as completely as possible. I am registered there.
  22. Of course! The installation itself is somewhere faulty, not the installer.
  23. According to an answer in Malwarebytes' Support Forum, the component package updates are updates to the Kernel in how the software integrates with signatures and associated detections, heuristics and other constructs. Have a look here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/287375-what-does-the-component-package-do/ If I were you, I would perform a fresh reinstall of Malwarebytes. Or a repair install. And backup your exclusions first! The component package version should be 1.0.365.
  24. Although Malwarebytes announced lifetime support as a nice present for Windows XP users, I came across this thread in their forum: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/295844-legacy-3512522-sudden-red-triangle-your-updates-are-not-current I really hope this doesn't concern Windows XP. At the moment, updating of Malwarebytes Premium 3.5.1.2522 works. Yesterday, the update package version was 1.0.29410 which was updated to 1.0.29412 a little later. Today, it was updated to 1.0.29420. Here is a screenshot: So we can see Malwarebytes Premium 3.5.1.2522 is still supported under Windows XP. Whether the lifetime support is really true, we will have to wait and see. One could also ask what lifetime is actually supposed to mean here. As long as the company "Malwarebytes" lives? Or the user?
  25. The website of Glarysoft doesn't work properly in New Moon 28 and Serpent 52. When you open the link https://www.glarysoft.com/, the buttons Products, Downloads, Support and Company don't work. This is the output of the Web Console: ReferenceError: zE is not defined[Weitere Informationen] www.glarysoft.com:361:3 <anonym> https://www.glarysoft.com/:361:3 ReferenceError: addthis is not defined[Weitere Informationen] index.js:18:3 <anonym> https://www.glarysoft.com/js/index.js:18:3 l https://www.glarysoft.com/js/jquery.min.js:2:16991 fireWith https://www.glarysoft.com/js/jquery.min.js:2:17783 ready https://www.glarysoft.com/js/jquery.min.js:2:12502 A https://www.glarysoft.com/js/jquery.min.js:2:9907 getPreventDefault() sollte nicht mehr verwendet werden.
