  1. ICS sorry, had to say it
  2. Did you accidently add an update for Media Center Edition which fixes an activation problem? Installing this on a non-MCE OS will cause that error.
  3. I think I should make a german subforum under Unattended XP CD, Would you guys like that?
  4. No point 'iexpress packaging' the new directx9.0b update that came out a few days ago, it doesn't support a silent installation so stick with the OPK. There's no advantages or disadvantages whether you run them from svcpack.inf or GuiRunOnce, its probably more convienient to run it from svcpack.inf though
  5. hmmm, do you have Microsoft Access installed? Jet 4 is only listed in Recommended Updates from my end.
  6. when the rollup is slipstreamed, -q -n on update.exe is correct.
  7. deluser.exe won't be needed using miso1391's command.
  8. The word "cracks" we have outlined in the forum rules means cracks that removes trial/registration/nag screens on a peice of trial software, not password cracking software. Just to clear that up
  9. I find that classic skin is more speedier than any Visual Style
  10. I find it useful to bring Windows back into focus when some stubborn games don't like Alt-Tab and won't bring it back to the desktop.
  11. I notice some of our members like to edit/package MSI files, and have found that OnDemand Software have made WinINSTALL LE 2003 available to download for free: http://www.ondemandsoftware.com/FREELE2003/ http://downloads.ondemandsoftware.com/down...ininstallle.exe
  12. oops, here it is: http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/a/z/azh1...MP9_MM2_ENU.exe
  13. http://www.MSFN.org/users/GreenMachine/XPC...TE/iexpress.htm
  14. winnt.sif goes in the i386 folder Your batch files can go anywhere after \$OEM$\$1\ eg: if you put them in \$OEM$\$1\install\batch.cmd then in winnt.sif you would have this under [GuiRunOnce]: %systemdrive%\install\batch.cmd
  15. Don't know exactly but was sure it was below 8 or something. They must have changed it
  16. Strange, got no answer for this error on MSN Messenger 6
  17. Some good tweaks: Disable System Restore Use Classic Skin & Classic Start Menu Go to My Computer Properties > Advanced > Performace > adjust for best performance. Disable un-needed services If you have a 2nd Hard Drive (not a 2nd partition on same disk) put your page file there.
  18. some one trying to get around activtion here. Not necessarily, wpa.dbl is an "already activated" file, and wouldn't work if it was copied to a system with different hardware. Copying this over saves having to activate again, as you are only given a number of times you are allowed to activate before phoning Microsoft Support for a telephone ID.
  19. You have a lot of old hotfixes, and too many cumulative updates, as well as wrong switches being used. This list for Windows XP Pro SP1 is current: http://www.MSFN.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8741
  20. Its stored in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ Try this, put all your shortcuts and other folders in Quick Launch to here: C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$Docs\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ I doubt their placement on the quick launch toolbar is saved though...
  21. Nice one, will have to try that
  22. They had to put the Update Rollup through extensive testing, which took just over 6 weeks, they also had to fix some issues with some of the hotfixes in there. Adding new ones would mean another month of testing and fixing any possible issues, which by the time there would be another new 4 updates.
  23. Try assigning a static IP to the network card if you have one. Not assigning one will cause the slow logon, because it waits between 1-3mins trying to contact a DHCP server, then when it doesn't find one it assigns a random IP and continues the logon process.
  24. Installing WMP9 after installing 828026 will restore the older versions of files, so 828026 should be installed afterwards. You can grab the WMP9 and MM2 bundle which is switchless and can be installed from svcpack.inf, so add that line, then add 828026 below it like so: WMP9MM2.exe Q828026.exe /Q /U /N /Z
  25. [Data] AutoPartition=0 [unattended] Repartition=No Add those to get the option to format/partion. But first you have to delete a partition to be asked this. It shouldn't be too much of a problem because it recreates it the same size again.
