  1. Uhm, I think I did not make myself clear . It's concerning a stand-alone computer and I have the right to configure it (no part of a network). It's supposed to be a testserver for a website I'm designing, so it can be reviewed before uploading it (connetion through the internet). And I do not need to know someone else's password, I need to know how I can get to my own password or how to reset it. There are no other users on this one yet, so the admin-account (my account) is the only one. So there is nothing about cracking programs or something, I just like to work again on this computer and configure the testserver. SAM-file... I read about that somewhere. But I did not understand what the exact meaning was and how to reset/decrypt that. I hope this will make it easier for you to answer.
  2. Hi, another question, about WinXP Pro this time. For I have got a multi-user PC, which I am administrator of, I was wondering if I could prevent access to some programs by some of the users (located in UserGroups) by a logon-script or through an other form of configuration (the configuration screen?). Or is it necessary that the user has to log in as a guest?
  3. Hi, while I was configuring a testserver (for http and ftp) on windows 2003, I changed my account name from the standard administrator in my initials. But when I tried to restart, I could not login with both the new account name and Administrator. But I did not change the password. I tried to read the knowledge base of Microsoft and several English and Dutch forums. But On the Dutch forums, they redirect to English answers, which I cannot understand too well (for I do understand English, but not real technical stuff). Still, it will work, if it is explained step by step and not redirecting to other, technical sites. For I have a dual boot PC, I still can work. But I was wondering if there is a way to reset or delete the admin-password for Windows 2003? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello to you all, My name is Janet and I'm from The Netherlands. While I was looking for a good forum with clear explanations (for my technical English is very poor :/ ), I came out here. I hope you can teach me and help me out with some problems.
