  1. ewww whats that? a pile of horse dung? :flame:
  2. heh sorry, there's always google though... got it in one page. Anyway here's the link: http://proxomitron.org/
  3. I had this situation before, where I had to install XP again into a different windows directory since repair did no good. Since you're an Admin on your newly installed XP OS, take Ownership of the files you've restricted, e.g. go to the properties of the folder thats named with your own name, then take ownership of it (hidden away in the advanced settings) and tick the box where it says to apply to all child objects (it applies ownership of all sub-folders - if any). After a while, all your folders should be accessable to you
  4. by the way, you might find that the Proxomitron's UI is very colourful which would make you go "ewwww!" lol Go to config, and click on 'Don't use Textures'. You need to restart the app for it to take effect.
  5. Long ago someone suggested Proxomitron as an ad-blocking software, so today I thought I should take my finger out of my butt and install this app. I was very impressed with it, beats the socks off Webwasher, and any pop up killer apps! After I installed and configured IE with the proxy information, I had to do nothing further! Proxomitron was already hiding banners and advertisements. Even 100% blocked all the nasty popup ads you get at Sharereactor.com and Cracks.am 10 out of 10!

    XP SP1 ?

You are having a laugh aren't you?
  7. You need to go to X:\Documents and Settings\Insert Name Here\Sendto\ - if this is not visible in Windows Explorer, then type the full path in Start > Run. I've deleted Mail Recipent from my SendTo Menu (just cleaning up ), so I won't know exactly what to do, but try this: Edit the properties of the Mail Recipent shortcut and change the path if it lets you. Right now it could be at X:\Program Files\Office\Outlook.exe or something similar. Change the path to: X:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe See if that works.
  8. I'm always logged in as Administrator What changes?
  9. I'm very much against using TweakXP, is there a reg hack you may know of? I'll try using X-Setup 6.2 (one of the best advanced tweakers IMO ) But I doubt X-Setup has the option, unless its been added by LiveUpdate
  10. ...and the link for the v2.0 beta is at Blubster.net (not .com - where the stable v1.2.3 release is, but no resume)
  11. I like my mobo, its got 4 LEDs with about 16 combinations of red/green lights, with a Legend on the bottom of my case
  12. I've put in a blank entry for date, but it won't allow it, it insists on having something in the field. So how exactly would I hide the Day name and Date?
  13. http://www.tekheads.co.uk/tekheads/search?...n=search&cid=27 Quite a lot there
  14. How do I stop the clock area showing the date and day when the taskbar is at 2 levels? I like it better when its just the clock time being displayed. I've looked around in Regional Settings in the Control Panel hoping to find something.. but nothing
  15. Harrytb - your attached image seems incomplete?
  16. hey FthrJACK, I got a s***ter radeon card than your 8500 and the game never crashes ROFLMAO!! Maybe s***ter is better?
  17. heh, you can always install the Divx codec, then run Ad-Aware to remove all traces of Gator (and any other spyware present) and the DivX codec will still work
  18. If you haven't installed SP1, then go to Internet Options > Security, and set default level for Internet, Local, Trusted and Restricted. Restart IE and go to Windows Update again.
  19. Your screenshot is too small to be seen, can you post the actual size instead of resizing it?

    Win Xp , to Me

Even Microsoft themselves say that installing 2 Operating Systems on one partition is a bad idea, and may cause issues in the long term

    Win Xp , to Me

Since you didn't create a partition for Windows XP, its installed all its files in the WinME directory, and obviously made quite a mess of it... hence the boot menu was not created, and could be difficult to make one as well. This is because a bootmenu instructs what partition to load up and since you have both OSs in one single partition it cannot really tell what to load, and insteads loads XP as its the last OS you installed. I'm afraid you may have to start over again, but there could be a solution somewhere on http://support.microsoft.com

    Win Xp , to Me

WinXP is supposed to put in the boot menu automatically if you started the setup from WindowsME. I don't know what you did wrong though... you did create seperate partitions for each OS to be installed in didn't you?

    Migration

yep, OEM, still never had any need for a floppy disk though, installed my drives perfectly with correct sizes in the BIOS

    Migration

I've ordered three hard drives over the past year, Maxtor, Western Digital and IBM, and none of them came with a floppy disk...

    Migration

I think an MS-DOS tool called xcopy does the job, but I don't know how to use it. You could do like Drewdatrip suggested, using the Disk to Disk clone in Ghost
