  1. Here's the UXTheme Patcher for anyone wanting to use themes on the final service pack for XP. uxtheme_1106.rar
  2. It probably won't Primal
  3. You'll have to try and see, some apps work when the spyware is removed, and some don't (i.e. Kazaa). If Call Wave stops working after removing the spyware, then simply re-install Call Wave and it should work ok afterwards.
  4. You can't do that, sorry. You need the original setup files on CD, and not all of them are stored on the hard drive.
  5. CDCheck - http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/ (Mentioned by FthrJACK earlier - ClonyXL is a copy protection detection app, it does have a read error check, but it isn't detailed enough to say exactly what files are corrupted, CDCheck does tell you)
  6. ah, well in that case, you can try booting it off the CD, and if it works you can exit the setup safely without proceeding with it. But I can't guarantee that the files you burned are ok or corrupt.
  7. You may be able to get trial programs of these from http://www.vmware.com and http://www.connectix.com Make sure you have a high-spec PC to test on!
  8. Topic moved to Windows XP & .NET Server - Other
  9. I didn't understand you very well, but I'll try my best. If you followed the instructions on that page, you should have a bootable xp cd which you can boot directly on boot up (configured via BIOS). So you won't need a floppy boot disk of any kind. You can uninstall your current copy of WinXP by quick formatting over it via the XP Setup program. I'm unsure as to why you want to uninstall your copy of XP to test your CD? You could try programs such as VMWare or Virtual PC to test your CD without removing your current OS.
  10. You forgot to archive your previous files during the Setup of SP3.

    Access Denied

Hello Rick! All you have to do is make accounts on both machines with matching Username and passwords, and you should have no problems at all on the network. Just remember to set both shared folders permissions to the account you set up

    Service Pack 1

Another good thing is you can slipstream the 'admin' SP1 (aka Network Install) into your Windows XP CD, so whenever you format, you can install your OS from the CD and it will have SP1 installed already. Bink will have a guide of his slipstreaming process for WinXP SP1 as soon as SP1 goes final.
  13. Yes, that's good. It can be done with the Dell OEM as well.
  14. Can you refrain from mass capitals please?
  15. Yep we've been working hard for you members!
  16. Using the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard and then pasting in your own graphics application does the job fine!
  17. I fancy playing around with a couple of PHP scripts for my apache server Anyone know of any sites that have excellent PHP scripts?
  18. Currently, I'm running Apache 1.3.26 with PHP 4.2.2 (and MySQL) on Windows 2k. I've downloaded Jack's Formmail script from http://www.lumbroso.com/scripts/formmail.php but have had no luck in making it work, even when I followed everything in the documentation. After doing a bit of research and asking around, I found the answer: Search for and open php.ini Find the following lines: [mail function] ; For Win32 only. on the next line - add your ISP's SMTP mail server to it: SMTP = smtp.virgin.net (the above mail server would only work if you was connected to Virgin.net, like I am. Just replace it with your own ISP's mail server address) This is how the finished result will look: [mail function] ; For Win32 only. SMTP = mail.domain.com
  19. Its here! SP-2 includes new security updates that enhance the protection of Office Web components from hackers, and an Excel 2002 update that prevents the loss of digital signatures when auto-saving spreadsheets. The service pack also include security updates already released, including those that prevent Word from running ActiveX controls when the user is using Word to edit e-mail messages and has configured Outlook to disable script. It also provides additional protection against exploits in Excel, which could potentially run macros without warning. On the stability front, SP-2 will include an update for Microsoft Word 2002 that corrects an issue in which the application may unexpectedly close when using a VBA macro to paste a graphic or shape; an update for PowerPoint 2002 that corrects the application from unexpectedly closing when clicking on a link to view a different slide in the slide sorter view; and an update for Outlook 2002 that stops the application from unexpectedly closing when a mail recipient from an e-mail message is added to the user's Contacts list. Download SP2 Standard - 14.7 MB Download SP2 Administrative (for CD Slipstreaming) - 49.0 MB
  20. Its not a virus, if you open it in your browser you'll get a "We know what you're doing. Stop it now." message. Its a message for the uploader, and it just redirects to some txt file i think
  21. heh funneh!
  22. SSI? I'm not sure I heard of this... Server-Side something?
  23. Invision is the easiest board I've installed to date, PhpBB and UBB (isn't that long forgotten now??) weren't very easy to install back then. Invision is so easy, it does all the installation from one single short webpage. Even worked perfectly on my PC setup with Apache, PHP and MySQL
