  1. You're welcome
  2. Yeah, its needed for to work
  3. It's there under "File Attachments" when you reply to a topic.
  4. Is this in your winnt.sif file? [branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended=Yes
  5. Its UnattendSwitch=Yes under [unattended] that stops the Welcome to Windows XP wizards, note that it has no 'ed' on the end of Unattend. UnattendedSwitch=yes isn't a valid command. OemSkipEula=Yes is what skips the EULA in text-mode setup. This also goes under [unattended]
  6. The article's been corrected, have a look Besides, it would be illegal for MS to destroy a component that isn't the property of Microsoft.
  7. Is OemPreinstall=Yes in winnt.sif under [unattended]?
  8. Did you remember to delete SVCPACK.IN_ from the I386 directory?
  9. More poll choices added
  10. You're using a very old version of the Java VM. Why not use the 1.4.2 versions that are verified to be working with switches documented on both this site and forum http://java.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=9567
  11. 1. UnattendSwitch="Yes" should be under [unattended] 2. This is necessarily a gfx driver issue 3. Can't really say for sure, but you have two OemPreinstall=Yes in your winnt.sif file.
  12. Threads merged
  13. Do: setupdl.exe /t:c:\temp /c And msnmsgs.msi should appear in c:\temp\ folder
  14. Nobody has been able to install those 2 hotfixes at that part of setup, no matter whether its cmdlines or svcpack. One example as explained by Alanoll in another thread - the problem with the dx9.0b hotfix is because new files from dx9.0b Setup don't get replaced until the system is rebooted (thus hotfixed files get overwritten too), which is why the hotfix installation only works when its done on a seperate reboot.
  15. As it says in the main Hotfix thread (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8741&st=0): Q839643 (8th June 2004) Vulnerability in DirectPlay Could Allow Denial of Service Download - 443 KB (Download this update if you plan a full installation of DirectX 9.0b prior to this update) Download - 435 KB (This is for DirectX on a default Windows XP SP1 installation without DirectX 9.0b) NOTE: This update may fail to install via svcpack if DirectX 9.0b is also being installed via svcpack. Instead, install this update on first logon to ensure successfull installation. and NOT SVCPACK.INF SUPPORTED - Anything shown below must not be processed by svcpack. Instead, these should be installed on first logon to process silent unattended installations of these updates. Q817787 (Switch: /Q:A /R:N) (6th May 2003) So you will have to use GuiRunOnce/RunOnceEx.
  16. No Double Posting. Thread Closed. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=21879

  18. Where is this Intel INF 6.1 and Intel SATA/RAID 4.10 drivers you speak of? There's only the INF 6.0.1 and 3.5.1 SATA/RAID floppy version on the Intel site. (with the exception of 4.1.0 but its only the Windows application, no floppy version yet)
  19. Have you remembered to delete the old SVCPACK.IN_ that exists in the I386 directory?
  20. See http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/hacked_files.htm to find out how to prevent Setup from showing a copy error on modified files
  21. You could try here?! Post your problem in the Software Hangout forum and someone may help
  22. Yep, the switch should work anywhere, from a batch file, runonceex, svcpack, you name it
  23. The usual /Q:A /R:N will work fine zetto - on the 2nd tuesday of the month hopefully
  24. New Critical Update workaround for Internet Explorer to protect against the Download.Ject exploit. KB870669 under Type 2 Hotfixes added to the main list. I haven't had time to test this thoroughly, but install this after any MDAC patches you plan to install. Alternatively you can use the reg fix suggested as GreenMachine (post above me) as this is all the patch does. Microsoft will be releasing a proper security patch for this exploit soon as this is only a workaround for the time being, so its optional whether you want to add this to your Unattended disc. Its only a 100KB download from Windows Update and doesn't require a reboot.
