  1. A couple of days ago I stumbled accross this how to guide on www.overclockers.com. This led me to MSFN's site and an answer to my prayers. I am a frequent installer of XP (anyone who dabbles with video codecs and video encoding will understand!), as a result I used to spend hours installing Drivers, Tweaking XP to my way of thinking and installing programs. But now thanks to these web sites and this Forum, the most helpful one I have come accross, I have a disk that installs all my drivers, tweaks XP and installs all my progs while I go out and sit in the sun, when the ruddy thing decides to come out! The Unattended XPCD is the best thing I have come accross since the Main Concept MPEG Encoder. So once again Thanks. Thanks for everyone who helped with with my probs especially Killer Bee. We can only get answers by helping each other so keep up the good work everyone.
  2. I extracted the qchain.exe and hay presto! problem solved. Thanks guys....
  3. I was told the hotfix files had to be renamed to an 8.3 format !!
  4. These are not the removal tools, they are the patches. I've just renamed them. But anyway do you think these hotfixes are the cause of my problem ?
  5. Is there a way to have my own wallpaper put on during install?
  6. Does anyone know if there is a switch for a silent install of Overnet that doesn't install the spyware ?
  7. Here it is [Version] Signature="$Windows NT$" MajorVersion=5 MinorVersion=1 BuildNumber=2600 [setupData] CatalogSubDir="\i386\Update" [ProductCatalogsToInstall] [setupHotfixesToRun] Blaster.exe /Q /O /N /Z Sasser.exe /Q /O /N /Z qchain.exe Blaster and Sasser are microsoft hotfixes.
  8. Try the guide at http://www.overclockers.com start with part I thyen do part II. you can't go wrong !!!
  9. When the installtion gets to about 13mins a window pops up asking where to extract files: C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv The install stops until ok is clicked. Can anyone help?
  10. So if it would work on a normal install, what method is the best to use: OEMPnPDrivers Path Run once (Install)
  11. Hi, I've just made my first unattended XP DVD with office Xp. Everything went fine except the display driver. I have a gainward FX5900xt but windows is telling me after installation that I have an S3 card installed. I have tried using the OEMDriversPath method and the Install method but neither will install the driver (Detonator 56.72 extracted). Can anyone help!!! P.s. I have only tried the disk on MS Virtual PC, Could this be the problem.
