Check the permissions of the folders, and edit as according to the permissions access of your user account. Then try out the steps as MSNwar described above.
Go into safe mode, place those folders elsewhere for now, and go back into normal mode for a couple of days. If nothing's wrong, then those folders should be safe to delete
Excellent ad-blocking software Miek, but didn't go well with my Kerio firewall (BSOD, BSOD and etc ) So, while waiting for a fix, I've stuck to using Ad Muncher, its very similar to the way Proxo works. http://www.admuncher.com
Nice idea Crispy There's also an app that logs your keystrokes to an internet server, in the event that a thief goes online and types out words that could point to where he lives, names etc. So you can check online to see what's been typed from your stolen PC/Laptop. I don't have the site URL at hand I'm afraid, I didn't quite trust cos I had the assumption it was probably spyware that could log my passwords etc.
I'm looking forward to getting a house with a couple of my friends this summer, and then set up a wireless network and use my laptop outside while basking in the sun
