  1. Yes you can post it here, and I'll try to help you, but also you shoul post it in the NLite forum.. If anyone can help you with this then it's Nuhi..
  2. Are you 100% sure that you didn't do somethig wrong when slipstreaming SP2 and tweaking it with NLite.. NLite is a great program but you can make errors in Windows installation, especially if you installed this OS from the same source on the 2 different computers and receiving the same errors... Total Commander is a powerfull program that can be very good substitute for Windows Explorer, FTP explorer etc...
  3. Yes it can be done. You have to edit a local computer policy. Under computer configuration --> windows settings you can add a startup script and then the script will run before a user attempts to logon.
  4. Have you tried to browse it with, for instance, total commander? I had the same problem with Windows Explorer, and found nothing, untill I reinstalled Windows with SP2 integrated. Now everything works fine..

    NSC TPM Error

We are cloning PC-s in our company, since we have more than 1000 users.. Everything worked fine untill we ordered new IBM Thinkcentre PC-s with 3,2 GHz The OS is Windows XP with SP1 and all of the security patches...(haven't tested SP2 Now, during the windows update we have the option to update National Semi Conductor TPM device, and if we update the computer freezes. Has anyone this problem?
  6. I think that XP_2600 wanted to completely turn off the DEP so the best solution would be to edit boot.ini file and enter /NoExecute=AlwaysOff (disables DEP completely) or you can edit the registry key in folder: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\ and key SystemStartOptions NOEXECUTE=OPTIN FASTDETECT and set it to: NOEXECUTE=ALWAYSOFF FASTDETECT.
  7. You should edit the boot.ini file and change the /NoExecute=OptIn to /NoExecute=AlwaysOff Hope this helps..
  8. I had the sam problem and tried almost everything but nothing was sucessfull, so I've reinstalled windows and now it's working fine...
  9. Yes, I would agree to boot your computer in safe mode and see which services and programs are starting in your registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run I think there's a virus problem, and doubt that adware or spyware has something to do with it.. This programs doesn't work that way..
  10. On the other computer you should enable "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer option"..
  11. What could I use to check for hardware-system stability under Windows XP.. I've used Burn In Test Pro on one PC and test has shown PASSED result and then after few hours it crashed to blue screen when the computer was in idle state...
  12. Thanks for the feedback
  13. I think that APC is the best UPS.. Unfortunatelly I have bought an MGE UPS and have strange problems which apparently noone can solve... I wrote a post at hardware section at this link so if anyone have any idea how to solve this please let me know... Hardware post
  14. The best practise is to make a clean installation of XP to avoid any later software conflicts...
  15. Do you have appropriate permissions on that machine?
  16. If you were unable to logon you should restore your system with last known good configuration option...
  17. You can convert FAT32 to NTFS without data loss but you can't convert NTFS to FAT32 without loosing all your data on that partition/disk... And offcourse you can't access an NTFS partition from Win98 system which is using FAT32 fs....
  18. My frend had the same problem, so I've cleaned his system with Spybot and Adaware and found about 300 errors (spyware, adware, dialers and other scum)
  19. Or maybe you have a floppy disk inserted during setup...
  20. On client computers enter DNS adresses of your ISP..
  21. Are you trying to run unattended or normal installation?
  22. N1K

    WMI not working

To be honest I would reinstall windows at least System folder or better solution would be slipstreaming SP2 to WinXp Cd with NLite.. Backup important data on your computer, and then perform clean installation of Windows XP SP2... Any other ideas guys...??
  23. Check your computer with Sasser removal tool, just in case...
  24. I think this happens with all versions of windows installation...
  25. Agreed, Fragmentation refers to the condition of a disk in which files are divided into pieces scattered around the disk. Fragmentation occurs naturally when you use a disk frequently, creating, deleting, and modifying files. At some point, the operating system needs to store parts of a file in noncontiguous clusters. This is entirely invisible to users, but it can slow down the speed at which data is accessed because the disk drive must search through different parts of the disk to put together a single file, so defragmentation can not help you in this case.. Reinstallation of Windows XP with SP2 integrated will most probably fix this problem...if not then you have compatibility issue...
