  2. zip up those minidump files and upload them somewhere so we can look at them. http://www.mediafire.com/ http://mihd.net/
  3. I dont think UAC adapts or learns from the user, please correct me if I am wrong. In a major complaint I have is UAC cannot remember or save permissions, i.e tell UAC "do not ask for permission to elevate this process again" or something similiar.
  4. It's called UAC (User Account Control) and I doubt it will backported to XP. BTW you can disable that in Vista, though that defeats its purpose. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control
  5. I was getting about 45fps consistently on ShangriLa with my 8600 GT using Forceware 163.71, Game Settings Max @1280x1024. My server ping was over 300!
  6. This link worked good for me, was fast 450K, and english. Gameplay is good, I wish they had included a warfare map though, and the graphics are scaled down a bit to reduce the demo size but still look awesome. Game ran great @ 1280x1024 with max settings on my 8600 GT
  7. I feel like the Angry German Kid right now: "WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG TO DOWNLOAD!? AHHHAAHAHAHAHA!!!11!"
  8. Added to the front page, you might want to find some mirrors, i need to try this!
  9. well when there is a software update usually there is a changelog file or a "whats new" description. There is no central site on the internet where you can get all software news. The closest thing to that would probably be watching the softpedia rss feeds. I prefer to keep the discussion in the public sphere so others can follow and share their input :-)
  10. the patent trolling is fud and old news imo.
  11. I get email notifications every time someone submits news to the frontpage software section, since I am a moderator, and its usually a mix between spam and sincere posts by users and developers. Different sites use different software to manage the front page, its not random.
  12. sounds like bad ram, run memtest86 and let it complete at least one full pass. you can also check your hard drives health and perform an error scan with HD Tune (freeware). http://www.hdtune.com/
  13. well I think I understand your question You're right in that it is too much work, for one person, to be constantly checking websites for software updates. A lot of software news is posted by the developers and end users, think wikipedia, not someone who's job is dedicated to checking. Also RSS feeds, which works like newsletters but does not use email, to other software forums helps a lot.

  16. no, Google is overvalued imo and I know little about investing but just compare the PE ratio to Walmart, currently 52:15 respectively, to see how crazy it is Also Walmart has much larger operating cash flows and they are more sustainable imo. Probably a good time to cash in on the "irrational exuberance" if you own Google. http://finance.google.com/finance?q=GOOG http://finance.google.com/finance?q=WMT
  17. um, Acronis True Image definetly lets you compress images, it even gives you options for this:
  18. I had no probs with this addon using nlite 1.3.5 I am referring to the official IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe not the addon in this topic.
  19. nLite gives an msi error when trying to integrate IE7 because it lacks the /integrate switch I think. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en
  20. thanks going to try this; been using the MrNxDmX addon from the ryanvm forums http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4289
  21. I know your joking but I really appreciate Epic's effort to make the game as efficient and compatible as possible to maximize its potential audience; you dont need directx10, you dont need a dual core cpu, you dont need a $500 video card, heck you dont even need windows! Of course only a powerful computer is going to be able to run the game with max settings.
  22. well after reading the posts I am not sure if this what you want but it's the first thing I thought of when I read the title: http://www.kood.org/terminal-server-patch/
  23. Official PC Requirements for Unreal Tournament 3 Released http://www.beyondunreal.com/daedalus/singlepost.php?id=11034
  24. thanks for pointing that out, i did not even notice that, its only mentioned once as far as I can tell but it is in the first paragraph on the page
  25. Happy Birthday puntoMX!
